A 35" bow should fit. I wouldn't call it a "bow" case. It is luggage. Here is my element in mine.

Your looking on how I plan to take my bow to Africa this year.

The side aren't soft but not hard. More like cordura with with padding

damn. that this is pretty big!! an element is 34" ATA? if you dont mind, can you measure inside dimensions? that would be awesome if a soft case fit inside.

what is your strategy? fill it up with camo, all around the bow?

thanks for the pic..amazing stuff..the sitka website/description sucked. they talk about it like it is a bow-case. very ambiguous.

I will when I get home. This bag is HUGE! Plenty of room. A soft case will fit but bunched up. It would take too much room for other stuff thiugh

Measure it,,, oversized luggage is $$$$$
I ended up with a fancy Badlands case that also carries a bow.

My buddy uses this, he loves it. I don't believe he has ever been told it's oversized luggage.

If that case is soft and you are ok with that you might take a look at the London Bridge Trading (LBT) large wheeled load out bag. It's built right to the largest airline bag dimensions and is made of cordura. I haven't put my bow in it yet but I'm sure it would be fine with a bunch of gear/clothes around it. I've got one if you want to stop by and check it out.....

I had two of the badlands bags you speak of and never had an issue with them being oversized. The Sitka is way bigger than my badlands were. It's going to be pushing the envelope but people have aside they haven't had issues so I'm rolling with It.

Craig when I say soft I mean not rigid. The nomad feels like a reinforced cordura.

I'd be interested in a picture with your bow inside. Maybe add the internal dimensions thanks

I gotcha Travis. The LBT bag has the option to put in bracing baffles where ever you want too which makes it more rigid.

I'll post a pic or two of it tonight. It's a sweet bag for hunting travel.

Here a few quick shots. The bow is 35" ATA. I didn't bother taking the gear out just threw the bow in on top. The last pic the bow is inside and zipped up.

I were going to fly with my bow in it I would put the padded divider walls in and stuff all of my clothes and other soft stuff around it.

Besides running if over I think it would be fine.

I bought a SKB 4114 in '06 when I was overseas. The bow and 2 dozen arrows went back and forth to Iraq 4 times without any damage whatsoever. Not sure what your travel plans are but this case is bomber. It's a dedicated bow case described as a "double parallel limb" case. I can't imagine trying to fit 2 bows plus arrows and quivers, etc into it but it certainly gives me peace of mind. Hard sided, meets TSA requirements for locking, wheels on one end. If international travel is on your horizon, or if you're looking at multiple plane changes, you might want to consider something like this.

I was entertaining getting the Nomad too. After some research I ended up with a SKB case. I'm far from home right now but I believe it's this model:

http://www.skbcases.com/sports/sku.php?cat=12&pid=4

I was surprised how big it was and how much gear I can fit inside, especially when you take out the divider. I've taken it on two out of state hunts so far, both multi leg flights and havent had an issue. Last trip, I packed my entire clothing system and some other stuff in it. From base layers to down pants/jacket and rain gear, gloves etc etc. I don't have a lightweight bow and I was well below #50 when all was said and done. If I'm not mistaken, the case itself weighs around 15-17 pounds. For me, the huge benefit is knowing that the bow is traveling safe.

It even fit's my Tikka T3 if I take the recoil pad off.

Best of luck!

Good idea for Africa travel. If your bag looks like a gun or bow case you'll have to go to the police station and pay a fee to get it. Non-camo duffles flow right through in my experience.

I have that case.

It is decent. Certainly not super secure. You can pop a lock with bare fingers.
It keeps honest folks out

I'm just exploring all options.

Key ? That's the point. You don't even need the key. I broke my key in the lock. I just forced it with my hand. It barely took any effort. The warranty is awesome. They sent me new locks and keys. I noted they are held on by 1/4 inch screws.
