Hello all, I just swapped out my #60 Turbo for a #60 Bowtech Reign 7. I was having issues with the Turbo and my shoulder from a motorcycle injury and made the switch. With the Turbo I was at 280 fps shooting a Axis 340 @ 425 grains, now with the switch my Reign in comfort setting (feels good on my shoulder) I'm shooting the same arrow @265 fps constant.

Should I keep this set up? Or possible move to a 8 grain per pound arrow for more momentum-500+grains? Iff so any recommendations? Will Be using this for hunting. Thank you all I appreciate any feedback -Will

Bowtech Reign 7 @60 pounds (comfort)
29.5 inch draw
425 grain easton axis 340 arrow
265 fps

Congratulations on picking out a terrific setup. Bowtech Reign is supposed to be an excellent bow. From an outsiders perspective, I wonder if you maybe would have been better off with the Reign 6. I used to shoot 7" bows and then recently switched to a 6" BH bow (Obsession). The new bows these days are so good that I dont think there is a big difference in "Shootability" between a 6" and 7" bow.

That said, I think 425gr @ 265 is plenty of horsepower. I might stay away from large cutting diameter broadheads if I was you, especially mechanicals. I would stick with a good 2 or 3 blade fixed blade that will have a good chance at creating two holes.

BUT.. just because 425 @ 265 should be plenty doesn't mean it is the ideal setup. Depending on the ranges you are shooting, I personally would go with a heavier arrow. I recommend Black Eagle Deep Impacts with a 125 grain head. That will put you around 500 grains. My back-up bow is a 7" 335 IBO bow @ 60 lbs and im shooting 550 grain arrows (total weight). It is a very hard hitting set up.

Thanks for the reply and info, I have been looking at black eagle with some heavy inserts and 125 wac'em 4 blades. I plan on keeping it 60 and under, 80 yards being really stretched ( for me anyway). I like the sound of a 500 grain pile driver :D, I really appreciate the reply thank you!

I prefer 3 blade Wac'ems as opposed to the 4 blade, although 4 blade have done well with complete pass throughs on elk with a similar setup as yours (430 gr arrow even).

Ive heard nothing but great things about the wac'ems. Good luck, should be a great setup when you are finished. QAD Exodus is another excellent one to try. Fly amazingly well and very forgiving to form or tuning.

Thank you, that's good I know. I have the 3 blade wacem and they do blow threw my Block Target 6 inches out the back.

Awesome thank you I'll have to look into those, currently I'm looking In front of me Wacem expandable 2 blade-100g, NAP Killzones trophy tip 110 grains weighed, and Stinger buzz cut 100g and also the 3 blade wacem 100g. Will have to see what the new bow likes for now. IMG_0287.jpg
