New black powder

A sample from today's test shoot. No swabbing. That glazed 2f is amazingly clean! A greased patch normally comes out filthy.

.005" copper home made, non corrosive percussion caps also fired perfectly without a hiccup.

That's tits. I haven't made any BP for quite some time due to limited space/cleanliness/safety. Hopefully will get back to it sometime soon. Mind PMing me some of your BP and cap process?

OP, I'm getting into making BP, and have the pucking die you showed earlier on order. What I don't have is a shop press. Before I go buy one or weld something up - do you know if a large bench vise will give enough squeeze to get an appropriate density?
The everything blank powder channel you mentioned earlier in the thread said in a recent video it was doable, curious is you have any experience with it. Thanks!

It's doable. It doesn't take anywhere near the pressure to compact the pucks. Just make sure it's a good heavy duty vise and mounted sturdy. Once you compact the powder, mark the spot where it compressed to, then use that as a stopping point. We have a sleeve for our puck now. Absolutely no having to worry about inconsistent seating pressure now.
