New Argali 3P Tent? Help Me Design it.

I think the 3p with stove jack is smart Brad.

Lots of us have wives, kiddos, dogs that tag along on off season adventures when stoves aren't needed.

Being able to use the same tent come fall with your hunting buddy and a stove is a good cost effective approach for guys not looking to own multiple shelters.

I'm a gear junkie that rotates between 6 shelters depending on the situation but I know several of my buddies would be all about a 1 tent solution.

I fall into the category of a 1 tent solution. Something that could fit my girlfriend, myself our dogs and gear and also be able to be used with a stove come hunting season would be ideal.
@Brad@Argali would this be a floorless shelter with an insert or more of a traditional style tent?

The design is unique in that nothing quite like it exists. It is a 2 pole design with insert options so you can run it floorless or with inserts/floors.

After reading that it is a two pole design, I want to be a part of the R&D. . I've wanted a two pole design for years to allow for more headroom so as to not feel like I'm dancing the pole when operating in the shelter and I'm not even that tall! Can't wait to see what you put out there.

I would prefer stoveless for a 3P- the 2P and 4P already have those options so a 1P and 3P without makes sense to me. Can't imagine the weight difference between 3P and 4P is going to be massive so for those that want a "1 tent" set up- the Absaroka fits the bill.

I'm in NZ and have spent more nights than I can count in my Rincon, from chasing tahr and chamois to chasing sika deer. Very variable climates and weather patterns. My issue is at 6ft 7 the top and bottom of my sleeping bag touch the walls when I'm on my air mattress and causes my WM bag to wet out- any indication that the 3P might have better head/leg room when on the mattress?

Been a struggle for years to find a shelter that doesn't cause this, even when double walled. Really enjoy the weight of the Rincon and being able to keep all my gear out of the elements.

Personally I’d like a tipi style - 1 door, option for stove.
Biggest thing with me that’s a make or break is a completely closeable / sealed unit that at night can keep bugs and things that slither in the night out.

I understand the design / reasons behind a floor less tent , but wanting one to do everything. I want a floor for my needs 90% of the time.

Maybe a zippered option with removable floor liner ?? Please and thank you..
(I’m actually looking to purchase one this upcoming year ….. legit instant sale if you make happen!!)

Am I the only one that thinks a 3p isn't necessary? I mean there is a 1p, 2p, 4p, 6p, 8p and tarp option. all of which could serve the purpose for nearly every situation/scenario. I don't want to piss in anyone's cheerios but unless this comes with some serious weight savings or a lower price point it seems pointless. Dyneema could shave some weight, but the cost would skyrocket. Hinting at a different layout could prove me wrong on all points but it starting to sound like the seek twilight layout, which has a stove jack and is made in the USA. Don't get me wrong I enjoy my Absaroka 4p and think it's a great tent but these are just my opinions on an open forum.

Great feedback. And yes, this 3P tent, the way it is designed, would be an ideal 2P for tall people like yourself if you run it without an insert. Do you run an insert?

It's based on a lot of user feedback we've received and our desire to make something that fits a niche I've heard repeadetdly, which is that most people don't enjoy spooning with their hunting partner in a tent, and that people want a two pole design for more usable space inside. The design and layout is unique in that it will have more interior usable space for a backpacking style shelter, but when used as a 2P the sleeping areas are separate and the vestibule is actually in the center of the tent. The advantages are in the layout and the space configuration.

And the design isn't like any other tent out there.

It will have the option for an insert attachment so you can be sealed up as well as just a floor (no bug netting). I'm not sure I'm tracking what you mean by a removable floor liner. Can you explain more?

My vote is the stove jack/one door option. I was already leaning in this direction, but was sold after the additional information you provided about the vestibule being in the middle. I think the option for a stove offers more benefits than a second door.

If someone wants a stove and two doors, they could always pick up the Absaroka. I'd have to imagine the weight between the Absaroka and this new 3P tent to be similar, all things considered.
