They did a dang good job keeping it on the DL till release time. Purpose built for pig hunters and poachers, but probably gonna be too expensive for them and everyone else anyway. Not hating on it, just getting pretty niche at this point. I’ll watch the rest of the video later, maybe I’m wrong.
Edit: watched the rest, not sure what’s so exciting about a subsonic monolithic that penetrates 16” when the 300blk uses a subsonic monolithic that penetrates 16”. Added weight means diddly without frag or significantly more diameter.

Interesting cartridge but not sure how it would do in my style of hunting.

The biggest thing it has going for it is that it is just an upper swap on an AR15 platform but runs off the Grendel mag for better reliability. People that hunt that platform and sub 300yards (Hornadys range not mine) may find it attractive in a short platform and suppressed.

I think it's hilarious that hornady is going to undercut the 8.6 creed prices in a better platform.

Overall though I don't see much use for the cartridge because I don't subsonic hunt.

Battle of the worst performer question: Would you take something like this over a 300blk from a performance standpoint?

Why not stick with 458 socom if the goal is to shoot heavy subs? My socom is shooting 500gr subs and 300gr supers.

I think it’s got a huge advantage over 8.6 blk simply due to the reasonable twist rate… 1/8 338 blanks are fairly available

There are specific powders and loads that work, but not too bad.

I’d bet decent money if they did a gel test of both sub-x offerings you couldn’t tell the difference.
