I've shot quite a few through the 6gt, 286g7 for an 1100y waterline. A big upgrade BC wise VS the 108. I have not tried to make contact with flesh using them tho. They like to jump. I load for my brother's prs rig, and there is a huge node back from 100/130 off lands that shoots 1/3moa with almost no poi shift.

Anyone wanna load some up for me for my 6CM?? 😂
Be picking up my new 6cm barrel next week. I'll be loading the 109s in lapua brass with rl16, be running them 3000-3050 from from the 22" barrel. If it's too warm, I'll drop it to the 2900-2950 range. This is a 4gr 237 bore ace light palma, be on a tl3. In a rokstok if my day 2 order ever ships. Tried to send you a pm, but I cannot for some reason.

Barrel length 24" ? Speeds?

I have a 22" coming and wonder where I will end up.
24” barrel. 3115fps with a moderate 57gr. charge of H1000. I just got all 100 pieces of brass fired, and a touch of cracking in the throat. So I just loaded up 100 rounds with that same charge. Going to go get zeroed and updated speeds soon.

How far off lands, and what BC were you using?
About .020 and a .29 G7. I’ve personally found that ELDM’s like very little tension as well. .0005-001 they seem to shoot tighter. Might be a fluke, might not lol.

Fired brass with a slightly cracked throat is now 3149fps average with an ES of 22fps over 12 shots. 57gr. H1000 and a CCI 200

We built my daughter a 18" 6cm. All we have shot through it are 109's. She killed her 1st elk this year at a hair over 350 yards. Impact velocity was almost 2400fps. The elk went about 10 yards, stopped, and fell over. Took out both lungs and didn't exit. Muzzle velocity is 2860 with fourty some grains of h4350. Hopefully I can get her on a deer soon.

The 109gr ELD-M as an ELD-M terminally.
As I understand it, the 109 is just an a-tip with a plastic tip. (I’m open to being wrong here if it is something different entirely)

If thats true, and the a-tips are considered inconsistent on game, what is the difference between the 109 and 110 that would cause a difference in terminal performance? Surely there’s more to it than just a tip change.

I’m considering the 109’s over the 108 eld or 108 elite hunters for a 6 creed for the higher BC for not much difference in weight but definitely don’t want to sacrifice terminal performance.

I don’t think the 109s have a higher BC than the 108 elite hunter. I’ve seen enough reports of inconsistent terminal performance on the 108 EH that the 109s are what I chose for hunting on that basis.

My interpretation on the 109s compared to the ATip is that they used basically the same or very similar bullet profile and not that it’s the same bullet with a different tip although I’m not aware of difference in bullet construction between the two beyond the different tips.

They’re higher on paper by a pretty insignificant amount (.295 vs .287), I'm but unsure if they’re actually higher in real world use.

Most of what I’ve seen on the EH has been positive but I don't have personal experience with them.

Applied ballistics says 0.280 g7 on the 109 and 0.287 on the 108 EH.

They are close enough that i don’t consider it a factor worth considering when choosing between the 2.
