Nevada draw 2026

I didn't see a Nevada 26 draw thread yet so figured I'd get it going. When can we expect the rejection email?

Last year we got results on the 23rd, but the deadline was May 7th, which is 16 days, so i'm guessing the 26th.

The past five years results have been emailed on the 21st, 20th, 19th, 17th, and 23rd. Always a Friday, always before Memorial Day.

It should be this Friday, the 22nd.

I think it’s going to be Friday, May 29.

Results are normally released more than two weeks after the application deadline and that’ll be 5/29.

Plus, NDOW has shown the draw on YouTube the last several years and they’ve always announced that event a day before via email and on their social media channels. Draw results have always been released a couple days after the draw is shown on YouTube. Since it’s nearly EOB on Tuesday and there’s no announcement about the draw taking place tomorrow I bet it’ll happen Wednesday May 27 and we’ll see results on May 29 which is the date promised by NDOW.

Ha Ha...no kidding.

I have 24 points for elk....and my odds of drawing have gone steadily downhill. Yep, it's gotten worse! I had a low single digit chance 20 years ago, now I have a less than one percent chance of drawing a good tag. I chit you not.

It seemed like a good idea at the time. I never would have predicted that the NV system of squaring your bonus points would have screwed me so badly.

Non-resident archery elk applications have nearly doubled since 2018 for the top unit in the state and there were 25% less tags in that unit last year. Other units are following similar trends. That’s the reason odds are worse over time, not squared bonus points.

Without squared points odds would’ve been .078% for the top unit last year. With 24 points the odds would’ve been .46% per GoHunt, or nearly 6x better.

Odds of drawing still suck regardless of the system!

And yet, with the way Nevada's system is set up, you can still get drawn the first time you apply.

I drew elk last year with 4 points, so Nevada is not getting as much of my money this year, but I’m hopeful they take another $1200 when the results come. I’d also be happy if they gave me a deer or pronghorn tag

And all of those applicants have their points squared....so I never really gain anything. Somehow your stats of going from way less than 1% chance to a lot less than 1% don't give me a wam and fuzzy- grin

I remember seeing my chances in the 5%, 6% range many years ago.....and now at less than 1% with them giving out less non res tags- it's pretty futile. Oh well.
At this point I look at it as a donation to a good cause- a F&G wildlife department

Applicants have gone up, tag numbers have gone down. Doesnt matter what they do with points, odds are going down.

Then with the 7 year wait your pretty well out anyway, so its a one done unless your real lucky.
