Need ATV Advice

Not knocking honda, because they are certainly reliable. But look at anything from the big four Japanese brands that fits your use and budget. Once you narrow that down, shop for the best price. Any one of these brands are going to serve you well and last a lifetime. I've put a little over 3000 miles on my 2019 suzuki king quad and it's gives me zero issues. I've got buddies with yamaha and they are just a reliable.

Sorry never owned a Honda, know a few guys that have them. It's a 50/50 split on feedback. I myself am a hard-core Yamaha guy, own a 400 Kodiak for my wife and 660 grizzly for me. Both have hauled whole elk and 2 full grown adults. Proofs in the pudding they say😏

I think I have decided on a base model Kodiak 700. I test drove one and liked it a lot. It comes with an automatic transmission and was shockingly powerful with me on it. Now to find the right deal.

She’s been all over the US. Hard to beat an old Honda

That being said, I’m looking forward to buying a SXS one day!

I've got 7000 miles of western Colorado trails on my Grizzly 550. My Wife has a similar number on her Grizz 550. Belts are not really a concern. We've got a 2020 Honda Foreman that we inherited, it is our loaner, just not as nice in any way as the Grizzly's.
That's great to know!

My last atv was a 700 Grizzly, great machine. Sold it to a friend that has nothing but good luck with it. Had Polaris before that, had pretty good service with them other than one ended up with a bad tranny. Never owned a Honda.

I purchased a Polaris UTV a few months ago with the intentions of selling the trusty Rancher.....ain't happening! The Rancher is a 2013 420 with PS and manual shift. I've owned 4 or 5 ATV'S and have found that the auto transmission variants were too loud for my liking. The manual shift allows me to upshift into a higher gear and creep through the trails much quieter. As far as power, I'm 6' 275 and routinely carry 5 bags of corn without issue. I've also had Deer strapped to the back with my son who is right at 200# sitting on the Deer!

With all that said, I'll never get rid of my Honda ATV. It's a tool that not even a shiny new UTV can replace.

My family has a Polaris that has cost us more trouble and it has been more of a pain in the ass than any other vehicle I’ve ever seen. Looking at a Honda myself.

I’ve got an 03 Polaris sportsman 500 ho. It gets beaten on and I’ve changed the battery, oil and suspension bushings. I now have a new Polaris sportsman 570 with power steering. I was hesitant on the electric power steering but I love it.
I still bring the old green monster out for friends when we work the farm , battery is dead but she pull starts very reliably.

I’m looking to add another for next year, it’s gonna be a side by side like a ranger, or one of the mini / micro trucks. Odd that I can get a 4x4 Japanese mini truck for 5k but I’m 15 on a side by side haha.
