I just came home with a Polaris Sportsman 570 EPS yesterday.
To start, I grew up racing and riding dirt bikes. I’ve never owned a quad until now. I needed one for hunting bad, hauling my deer out last year on my Husky was awful.
So I am a bigger guy at 6’5 275 lbs. I test drove everything and really wanted to love the Kodiak 450 XTR as well as the Honda. They all felt really small and the power was very underwhelming on the 450 in the parking lot. I did not want a sportsman as I am chasing reliability and will stack miles on this machine during scouting and transporting to spots etc. But after driving and riding the Sportsman it was insane how much bigger it felt in the cockpit, snappy and responsive and you could tell even on pavement the suspension was light years ahead. So I went that route. The price was way less (all new off the lot) than even the 450 Kodiak out the door. The 570 EPS even comes standard with a winch.
We’ll see how she does over the long haul but from everything I’ve read and talked to guys about, Polaris has come a long way in the 3 years.
