Need a reamer, I have the drawings. CIP 5,6x57 Who is a good person to make it?

I already work with it. In an old Steyr.

It spits fire, lightning. Barrel is ok.

Came with a lot of components so I did it.

The neck sucks is super thick, but it is what it is.

Have a lifetime of stuff for it. So why not.

Going to build a 2nd gun when I get back, but I am going to use the same CIP chamber.

I might build a 224 TTHA when I get back to see if that is worth the squeeze.

Manson is top notch. Their reamers always cut nice and smooth and are not prone to vibration, even when razor sharp new.

Lead times are sometimes a bit long, but the reamers are really good.

Haven't used JGS myself so I can't comment on their performance, but a lot of great smiths use their reamers aswell.

That’s an interesting cartridge that I’ve never heard of before, or if someone mentioned it I never realized what it is. Necking down a 7mm Mauser to .22 cal makes quite a fast combination! Most of our .22 cal cartridges have a neck about .030” smaller in diameter - do you know what the reason for that extra thickness is?

Not quite in the UK

The Deer Act 1991 stipulates a minimum calibre and minimum muzzle energy of .240″ and 1700 ft/lbs for the lawful shooting of all deer species in England and Wales, except for only Chinese water deer and muntjac, where a minimum bullet weight of 50 grains, minimum calibre of .220 inches and minimum muzzle energy of 1000 ft lbs applies. Scottish legislation is slightly different and includes a minimum velocity requirement; there are two sets of ballistic minima, one specified for all deer species and a reduced requirement for roe deer only.

In Mainland Europe it varies quite a bit.

In Germany red deer, mouflon, chamois, ibex, sika deer, fallow deer and wild boar must be shot with a 6.5 caliber centerfire with a 2000 joules of energy at 100 meters.

Roe deer can be shot with a 22 centerfire and 1000 joules at 100 meters.

the inserts are for small game like rabbits (pretty much wiped out in mainland Europe by tularemia), hares, fox, badger, corvids, trapping, Martins, weasels and marderhund.
