I've hunted Montana and Wyoming for Coyotes and am thinking of trying Nebraska. Are public land opportunities plentiful or would it be best to try to secure some private land permissions?

Compared to Wyoming/Montana you will be disappointed. Not a ton of public land and it gets pounded by every other type of hunter, including coyote hunters.

If you can get permission on continuous pieces of land you will have a much better hunt.

I do see them on public, but you should easily be able to get permission for coyotes once the rifle deer season is over.

Go knock on some doors or even better try to line up something in advance. Nebraska is cattle country, keeping predators in check is import to most ranchers.

Be responsible and respectful. One bad apple could ruin the whole bunch.
