Did a test load for velocity, loaded 56.5 gr VV 565 w 130 gr Nosler Accubond and velocities were 2795-2810 fps out of my 20" suppressed 6.5 PRC. Lapua brass showed no signs of pressure whatsoever, definately gonna load up to at least 58 gr and hoping for close to 2900 fps , if accuracy is acceptable I will be fine with that!

I’ll be loading up a few more to test pressure and velocity up to 59 gr (with 143 Bondstrike) today after work. Seems like I’ll probably end up around 58.5 and should be in the 2800s from my 21” barrel.

Please report back what you end up with for velocities and more importantly, how well it groups! I've heard its been a very good powder choice for accuracy...

Quick range session to find pressure with N565 and 143 Bondstrike.

57-59 gr in .5 increments. Slightest bit of heavy bolt lift at 59 and slight extractor mark. Will call that max and try 10 at 58.5 to see how it groups.

Velocity as below:

10 round group at 100 today with the Seekins Element. A little larger than I’d like, but I think it’ll do. 1.51-.264 = 1.246”.

Pretty consistent velocity as well. Will load up 10 more to true at distance next weekend.

I’m using N565, Berger 156, ADG, and gm210m (26” tube). My initial load on new barrel was 59.9 with velocity of 3070 and .3 MOA. After several range trips barrel sped up over 3140. Backed down to 59.2 to get back to 3070, and holding a 10 shot group 1moa.
Just got a AMP annealer and annealed all my brass. Went back to range and velocity jumped up to 3103. Not really sure why my velocity would increase after annealer but I guess I need to reduce charge to get back go 3070.

Just a thought for the velocity increase after annealing. The neck is now softer so more energy is going to pushing the bullet down the barrel, instead of expanding the neck.

N565 is the stuff for my 6,5 PRC. I have a custom chamber (Tight) 28" Bartlien bbl 55,5grs Lupua brass behind a 153.5 Berger that produces 3,000 FPS. N560 is beautiful stuff, too.56grs Pushes 140gr bullet at 3200 in Hornady brass

I've been very pleased with n565 and my seekins 6.5prc. With the 143 ELD-X I am well over the speeds my buddies are getting in their seekins 6.5's with other powders and my SD numbers are usually below 10fps (several have been below 2fps) so its hard to complain. Added bonus is that I can get it locally and for less $$ than Hogdon powders like H1000

Worked up a load for my Tikka 6.5 prc 20" barrel with N565 and 147 ELDM. 57.0 grains is at 2825 fps and I think .060 off lands. Shooting right at .5moa. Now I need to take it out farther and see how it shoots. Really like the N565 rather than H4831SC as couldn't get any good results with that.

Dispersion is linear, if it shoots good at 100 it will shoot good at any distance in a perfect environment. Only as long as you "do your part" though

My seekins shoots 4831SC very very well. Groups are tight, ES and SD are good. Only down side is MV isnt where I want it to be. I loaded Hornady 140 BTHP and with 54.5g Its mid 2800fps but groups are under 1/2".

I think 4831SC does better on lighter bullets but it just goes to show how different every gun is. Mine likes it, and others don't. Luckily mine likes 4831SC and I have a lot of it from my 270Win days.

Has anyone else noticed that N565 is "grippy" or sticky?

I just got a 6.5 PRC and I'm experimenting back and forth with both N565 and H1000 and the H1000 flows thru the powder drop, funnels and then back out of the case if you need to dump it.

The N565 doesn't drop as consistently and needs taps to go thru the funnel and if you need to dump it from the case it gets stuck in there and has to be tapped out.

I'm wondering if its stickier or the cut shape just locks up better like gravel.

I use the unknown munition funnel and it flows fine. I've only had the funnel clog a couple times when i dump the whole charge in one shot. but 1 tap on the funnel and it goes right into the case.

What OAL are y'all loading to?

I understand every chamber is different but I loaded a batch of 50 147 ELD at 2.950 and I had 4 or so squeeze into the lands as the bolt closed.

I had no issues with 75 or so 2.955" OAL loaded w/ 130gr TMK.

Update to Above:
- my issue was protruding primers. I switched from Remington to White River primers. The White River are really tight and hard to push in. I tested some rounds that I thought were closing on the lands and they were not. The case was too long with the primer protruding and caused hard bolt close.

I'm still curious what length everyone is loading to tho. I'm at 2.950 for now. 147gr ELD

I had that issue recently with Rem 9 1/2's in new ADG brass. My POS RCBS hand primer with the shell holders wasn't pressing them in fully, a new universal solved it.

Not that's it's exactly relevant, but my COAL with a 143 (nearly identical dimensions) is ~2.994. But my chamber is throated for them, at that length the bearing surface is seated fully in the neck and the ogive is ~.040" off the lands.

I’m at 2.353” CBTO with the 147s and that’s .020” off the lands in my barrel. It puts my COAL around 2.982”.

Do you have a bullet comparator to measure cartridge base to ogive? I see quite a bit of bullet length variation on the 147s, so I don’t think I’d try to load ammo uniformly to that measurement.

My load is 57.5 gr of N565 in Norma brass out of a 20” barrel chronoing at 2760 with the 147 ELDMs. I started seeing pressure signs at 59 and stopped at 60 on my pressure ladder. I got 2883 at 60 gr.

I don't have a comparator. Protruding primers ended up being my issue.

I saw pressure with N565 at 58.5gr with my 18" barrel at 2687fps so I'm loading 57.5gr too, which flies around 2664fps.
