I have only used federal 210m and 215m. the 215m works goodI'm waiting on my tube, planning to start with ADG, N565, 156 berger. What are you guys finding is best for the primers? I understand availability could be the issue, but leaving that aside.
Great thanksI have only used federal 210m and 215m. the 215m works good
I’m gonna try some H1000. I was reading some guys say that while both primers work. Alot of guys were saying the 210’s were more accurate for themI'm waiting on my tube, planning to start with ADG, N565, 156 berger. What are you guys finding is best for the primers? Yeah I was on the fence of H1000 and N565. ThanksI’m gonna try some H1000. I was reading some guys say that while both primers work. Alot of guys were saying the 210’s were more accurate for them
Yea I’ve heard good things about the N565. I just have some H1000 so figured I’d use thatYeah I was on the fence of H1000 and N565. Thanks
I definitely would have done the same thingYea I’ve heard good things about the N565. I just have some H1000 so figured I’d use that
My initial test with H1000 on my Tikka 6.5 PRC there was no difference in accuracy with primer swap, but I got almost 100fps faster with a magnum primer. I ended up sacrificing the velocity because the ES was significantly less with a CCI 200 on the new barrel.I’m gonna try some H1000. I was reading some guys say that while both primers work. thanks, once i get mine together i will try and do the sameMy initial test with H1000 on my Tikka 6.5 PRC there was no difference in accuracy with primer swap, but I got almost 100fps faster with a magnum primer. I've since put 200 rounds through, and it's at the gunsmith getting cut down to can length, cleaned up with an AW2 reamer, and throated out for 147's. I'll be testing and comparing H1000 and N565 soon so I'll try to remember to report back with results.
Ok thanks. Yea I have a Tikka as well. Plan to shoot the 156 and maybe the 147’s. I have some magnum and large rifle. But probably want to use the ones that are most accurateMy initial test with H1000 on my Tikka 6.5 PRC there was no difference in accuracy with primer swap, but I got almost 100fps faster with a magnum primer. I am using N565 and 215m with good results. Still need to play with seating depth. I used N565 and 210m but results were better with 215M. I also have a medium action for my 6.5 prc custom built rifle.Yeah I was on the fence of H1000 and N565. Thanks
Thanks, I will give them a tryI am using N565 and 215m with good results. Still need to play with seating depth. I used N565 and 210m but results were better with 215M. I also have a medium action for my 6.5 prc custom built rifle.
Have any of you guys tried the Berger 144 LRHT? Curious how they have compared to the berger 156's? I might order some of them to try as welll. I'm not using them as hunting bullet, only for paper and steel.
Awesome thanksI don’t have a PRC but I run the 144LRHT is a 6.5x47 Lapua and a 260AI and they are amazingly consistent with BC accuracy and consistency out to 1560 yards so far.

It seems to be, I consulted with someone very experienced with VV powders and he guided me along. I didn't get any pressure signs except some high velocity but I ran up to 59gr with a 143 this weekend. Hit 3k fps in a 21" bbl though, so I reeled her back a little bit and it's a solid load.Judging by the charge weights posted here, I'm assuming V V's load data may be on the conservative side.... I grabbed some N565 and 143 Norma Bondstrikes to try out. Norma factory 143 bondstrike ammo nets ~ 2830 out of my Seekins Element. V V data with a 144 Berger suggests 54.2 was max, so loaded 6 rounds for a quick pressure test up to 54.5. Velocity at 54.5 was surprisingly anemic at 2655 with no pressure signs whatsoever. Loaded another 6 charges up to 57 gr and saw 2792, bolt lift was normal, primers looked fine and no marks on the case head at all.
Sounds like I might have a little room to go still, but may just load up 10 at 57.0 gr to group and then another 10 for grouping at distance.
