Great breakdown! I would certainly be lieing if I said I didn't pick up a trick or several dozen from Stid over the past 5 years we have hunted together.

That is a Therm-a-Rest Trekker Chair Kit, it uses a Therm-a-rest pad. It is Luke's I was keeping it warm for him while he and Becca were stalking his Billy. Very light and comfy for sure. Keeps your butt warm and dry and provides some back support.

And when folded out doubles as a bivy pad to sleep on. Gotta love mulituse gear.

Stid, I have the same rifle as you. I also could not get the lr accu 150s to fly good and I am also using the 140 accu but factory loads instead of hand loads. .5 moa all the way to 700 yds. My question is how is the 280ai with 140 accu performance on game the size of moose? A little nervous on elk moose etc with it. Great thread by the way!!!

I would not hesitate to hunt moose or elk with this load. I have not shot a moose with this load but I have absolute confidence that it will get the job done, I did hunt moose with it, just never had the chance to get a shot. I did kill 2 Goats and both my wife and I have shot sheep with them. Devastating wounds, and plenty of knock down power.

Wife's Ram.

Stid were the exit holes similar on your goats with the 140 accu? I have always shot 140 trophy bonded bearclaws out of my 270 and ran out of those so made a quick switch to some 130 hornadys that shoot well, but was thinking of working up some loads with 140 grains and was really thinking about the accu.

Accubonds AKA "Acubombs" are known for a lot of damage. Not that bad unless you hit bone, but they flat out kill and you don't end up looking for wounded game very often.

This is the Goat.

Another fine season in the books. But, alas, Mr Steve you're a bad influence. My inner gear junker has been on a binder for several seasons now. Excellent photo's my friend.
