Hey guys,
I own 3 Seekins rifles. A havak hit pro, a ph2 and now a ph3. My havak hit pro's barrel is currently being replaced by Seeking as it was shooting like garbage for a 6.5cm. Apparently Seekins said it may not have been honed properly. My Ph2 in 7prc shoots incredibly. Now I have a recently purchased ph3 in 6.5prc and it generally also shoots like garbage. The action screws keep coming loose ( like every 50ish shots from what I've been able to notice) - I have spent so much time trying to develop a load for this thing that I've gone through 6 different powders with generally crap results due to horrible groups. I always torque the screws back to specs when i noticed they've loosened. I took the rifle apart to inspect bedding and barrel screw tightness and everything seems good. Idk what to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

You mention developing your own load, have you shot quality factory ammo through it as a baseline?

yes. I compared my loads to factory ammo. Once I tightened up my action screws again- the factory ammo shot 2 excellent .25 moa shots and then the 3rd flew an 1 1/2 away.

I have a Seekins PH3 and with factory ammo the bullets touch at 100 yards. I've had 4 or so failure to fires or light primer strikes.

I hate to say this and hope it isn’t true, but these premium factory rifles are popping up all the time seems, it really started years ago with Christian arms. People buy them they are great till they get popular then they kind of go down hill. I have been recommending the seekins lately to people that don’t want to go custom I really hope this is a fluke for them. I would say 99 percent of the time good action custom barrel good gunsmith and you will always have a good shooting rifle. But I know there is always a budget to follow. Good luck hope it works out for you.

You should read my post I wrote yesterday- "more Seeking Precision problems"

I think it premature to say the nightmare is rectified before you have proofed the rifles. The original rifles went through the same QC did they not? Here's to hoping they shoot as expected.

If a barrel won’t shoot don’t waste time and ammo. A good barrel will shoot good right off the bat. To eliminate any bedding issues can you fit the ph3 action and barrel into the hit pro chassis? That would help verify if it’s a bedding issue or a barrel issue.

I suspect that not all rifles went through extensive QC. But I agree. It ain't over till its over.

I will once I get them back. My HIT was a gen2. They are sending me a gen3. They told me that they are throwing in a standard and a magnum bolt head for customer satisfaction. I'll now be able to interchange my ph3 in 6.5prc with my HIT m3 in 6.5cm. Pretty stellar.
