As for MGP...that rig in picture is a tank...full skid plates a the way back. Rock sliders, warm 12k mounted in that heavy C4 bumper, suspension/spring mods, rtt, full enclosed all aluminum bed rack with 70qt fridge/freezer and 200Ah solar battery set up, 20 gal pressureized water tank...
its close to 8k lbs before loading gear. We averaged just under 12mpg round trip over 3400 miles to wyomong and back. Over 9k lbs coming home with our elk in the coolers.

My wife's 2018 would average 16mpg overall, 18.5 on highway with stock 18s before adding 20" wheels with heavy load range 33x12.50's.
she's about 13.5 average and 16.5 highway now, but hers hardly ever sees highway use anymore which shows in the lower average.
Mileage doesn't really factor in for me...dont drive enough overall that a couple mpg would ever sway my decision...If I drove 30k+ a year and swapped for a new truck every 100k, I might consider something else

That’s me for now as I work from home unless on travel & if traveling it’s company dime . I’ve looked at the newer ones with the twin turbo but find myself in the same dilemma as when I briefly considered the ford 3.5. It’s hard to want a truck with a v6. My wife is a Toyota person she had a Tacoma when we met & we passed that own to my oldest daughter when she started driving. When we found out my wife was pregnant with our second I traded my 21 rebel for her a 22 Highlander xse. She keeps telling me she wants me to get a tundra when I buy something

Tires are 285/75/18s (35s) Yokohama Geolander MTs. Wheels are 18” factory Toyota wheels,… though not what the truck came with. Had to run factory wheels to get the offset needed to fit 35s without changing suspension.

For $44k I got two cars, an SUV and I still had $8k left over for gas. Spending that on a vehicle is insane.
