I decided against the Silverado and bought this 2020 Tundra instead. It has all the fancy accessories, which I don’t need, but it came with them. I already took the racks off the bed and will sell them. I have been a Toyota guy all my life, so I am glad we picked this up instead of the Silverado. Only 21K miles as well.

Nice Truck! Ever since I got a Sequoia a while back I am sold on Toyota. I just wish they made even bigger trucks and it is sad the 5.7 v8 is no longer in production. Those are great motors.

My next truck when my 07 tundra dies will be similar to yours but in the double cab, I like the 6.5' bed with a shell to sleep in. Gotta love the 5.7. Good lookin truck!

Recently bought an 18 Tundra. Similar situation -- I don't need the upgrades, but they were on the truck I found with the right miles/price. Actually, mine came with the exact same bumper as yours (but no rack). Hope you love it as much as I'm loving mine.

Nice truck. I love my 19. Their tranny’s will tend to run hot. They have a small warming and cooling puck, not a dedicated cooler. If you plan to keep it for a long time, I might monitor it and see. Some run cooler than others. A veepeak OBD scanner with the OBD Fusion app & adding the extra Toyota codes will do it.

My tranny temp would get over 230 degrees at 70 mph on a level freeway no head wind in warm weather, just driving, lightly loaded and not towing. I could not use 4 hi off-road in warm weather for much more than 5 minutes, then too hot. I added a cooler and alls well. If I towed my drift boat, it had to be in S4 with tow/haul enabled or it would get real hot. Even then it ran at 210-222 degrees.

Toyota says it’s fine. Every tranny guy I talked to said it is not. Now with a dedicated tranny cooler I can tow in D with tow haul selected, run cool (under 195), run at lower rpm’s and get better mileage vs the factory set up. At a minimum, I’d change the tranny fluid now, and do a drain and fill about every 30k if I towed at all or did freeways driving in hot weather.

You are low mileage enough to add an extended warrantee if you wish. They are prone to cam tower leaks, they usually show before 100k. Some guys fix it, some don’t. Tundras.com has a wealth of info, if you are not already a member it’s worth a look. They have guys there that sell extended Toyota Motor warrantees for much less than most dealers. You can probably sell your rack there too.

Nice wheels...
That should be a solid rig.
The trans fluid change and add on cooler being a 2019+ is solid advise if it'll be towing, off road much in hot climate or pulling steep grades frequently.
RCI makes some stout steps/sliders...they are heavy.
Congrats on the new truck!
Enjoy the frequent gas station stops us tundra owners find ourselves making.

Shame they all come with 6’s now. These things are bullet proof

With the bigger tires you getting 13ish mpg’s??
My last two trucks were Ram Rebels & my next will either be another Ram or a Tundra. The 19 rebel averaged around 16.8 & the 21 averaged 15.8 due to aftermarket exhaust both ran factory tire sizes. When I was first looking at the 19 I also looked at tundras , my uncle would say they tell me those mf’rs pass everything but a gas station. I have no clue how many we passed heading to rifle co that year on an elk hunt but if he saw it he said it. Between that & him eating suckers non stop I threatened to leave him at a gas station. Had no idea he had stage 4 cancer & would be gone 9 months later.

Sorry to hear about your uncle, cancer is a ruthless bitch.
As for MGP...that rig in picture is a tank...full skid plates a the way back. Rock sliders, warm 12k mounted in that heavy C4 bumper, suspension/spring mods, rtt, full enclosed all aluminum bed rack with 70qt fridge/freezer and 200Ah solar battery set up, 20 gal pressureized water tank...
its close to 8k lbs before loading gear. We averaged just under 12mpg round trip over 3400 miles to wyomong and back. Over 9k lbs coming home with our elk in the coolers.

My wife's 2018 would average 16mpg overall, 18.5 on highway with stock 18s before adding 20" wheels with heavy load range 33x12.50's.
she's about 13.5 average and 16.5 highway now, but hers hardly ever sees highway use anymore which shows in the lower average.
Mileage doesn't really factor in for me...dont drive enough overall that a couple mpg would ever sway my decision...If I drove 30k+ a year and swapped for a new truck every 100k, I might consider something else🤷‍♂️

Wish I still had my 2018 Tundra; had a guy pull in front of me while doing 60 and totaled it at 50k. I got a 6 cylinder now and haven't had any problems through 20k miles - time will tell. Enjoy it!
