That’s the catalytic heater. I think it’s 6000btu. Water heater mounts outside to the front of the trailer. It’s a camp chef triton 5l on demand water heater
Very cool. My dad has been wanting to do the same thing with his cargo trailer since he can't seem to find the 'perfect' setup yet. Curious to see the finished result!
Nice! Great work and inspiration for many to follow your lead.
I ordered up a little 6'x12'x6'-6" tall Cargomate that is insulated back in '14. Works great to haul one quad or RZR around then camp in it. I like windows so got two (screened for vent), plus a regular RV style side door (has a screen door and is inside locking). But I run all portable/folding stuff inside....cot, table, chairs, Coleman stove and heater. A couple of permanent things that really help are 25 large cup hooks attached around the inside perimeter to hang clothes on and a paper towel rack.
Since hunting season starts on a week I needed to get some more stuff done. Almost there now. Just need to get the foam for cushions and see some covers up.
This is great! There is a shortage of videos and pics like this on the web for hunters. I am in the middle of building out a hunting trailer as well and will share pics.
Thanks for sharing!
Awesome work. If you're interested, there's a guy here in Pinedale, WY that builds a canvas door with stove jack so you could use a wood stove in there. Sounds like you've got the heat covered though.
I helped a buddy do a project like this about 10 years ago, and then we spent the next duck season hunting every public wetland in Missouri. Very nice finishes on your trailer.
One cool thing he did is that he mounted a swing out bar on the top of the front of the trailer (over the tongue) that had a hook he could hang a gambrel to for cleaning dear, etc. We could hang and clean the deer at the trailer and get the meat cooled down without having to go into town for ice (assuming cool nighttime temps). Maybe not great in bear country...
