For what it’s worth, I have now used this for hunting a couple of days, hiking a couple of days, and while walking the dog. I really like the SG Sentinel setup and appreciate the recommendation.

And two months, many range trips, and a lot of hiking later, I still love this setup.

Is there any recommendation on backpacking tripod and head that's just for glassing? The only shooting application I can see is potentially using a plate with the mollinator bag on top. No clamps, but likely not. So, lightweight glassing functionality is the goal.

I've been looking at the Aziak Ridgeline and Backcountry tripods and have seen mentions of using another head on the Ridgeline in combination with the ball head it comes with. I think those heads used were the tricer LP pan head and ridge warden bt-20.
