My gear/pack layout from base layers to binos

Which vivo are you using in November for Montana? Love the leather trackers. Been awesome for warm weather. I really don't want to go back to a traditional boot for late season elk.

They make both the winter tracker and the tundra. Have not tried the tundra yet but winter tracks seem nice.

Until now- Tracker Forest ESC’s. However, I have a pair of the Tundra’s now that I will use if it is actually cold.

The ll bean sweater was oddly proportioned and itchy. Returned it. Any opinions on the new ranger sweater that is 100% merino vs the blend?
Until I get a ranger sweater for Christmas, I’ll keep using the Swazi wool sweater. It may be worth a look, not sure about tariffs and returns though

The Camel wool socks have excellent performance as stated versus the merino blends I've used. However, for me they are done after 5 straight days in the backcountry with a lot of miles and elevation. I think they are the bomb for day trips or short overnight outings and I've used them for a number of those.

Anyone else experienced similar with The Camel wool socks in extended heavy use?

Haha. Not after 5 days. That’s some serious slipping causing that. I get some wearing in the heel after 30-40 days of use.

This set has probably 15-20 days total across several hunts/hikes. Can't say I notice excessive sliding but I do wear the Vivos "not tight". I don't know, I've just not seen this from the blended socks in the same use.

My Yak socks didn't make it out of the house before there were holes in both heels. I was wearing them daily and walking around the house, probably on rugs that wore them through. The were my favorite feeling socks ever. I wore them under some alpaca on a recent hunt (with the heel holes). Warm combo! I haven't worn the camels too much yet, but I'll be watching them. You had a liner sock under the camel too?

“Just how big of a boy are you?”

Haha. No whoopass needed. I know what you're thinking, but I'm no Clydesdale. Just a lean 5'7 155.

Yep, the injinji toe liners. I have the Yak socks too, and will try those next. I'm gonna get replacement factory insoles for my Vivos, these are getting a tad rough.

Ha!

That’s wild man. The only time I burned a pair through like that, the leather liner inside the Trackers had torn away and the hard heel cup abraded them in abut 2 miles- they also wore out two other pairs of wool/synthetic socks out that trip.

Maybe someone can help me out here. I bought a pair of socks on etsy, and paid shipping. Now dhl is saying I owe them another 20 for duty fees. Was I supposed to realize this would be an additional tariff fee or whatever? I thought the exorbitant shipping fees would cover this. Am I screwed now and have to pay this fee? What a bunch of crap.

Looks like you'll have to pay the fee or refuse delivery. Etsy sellers aren't posting a notice about duties or at least the ones I've seen aren't.

Quoted from page 29.
I ordered a few more pairs of the Yak and Camel socks, got a notice from DHL that they are holding it for $93.50 in duties. Emailed the shot and yep they dont say anything on the site about it but buyer has to pay those directly to the shipper. If I dont it gets returned and I am out the cost of my order. So I guess at this point I am out $100 for nothing or $200 for 3 pairs of socks.....

Just something to keep in mind if ordering these.

Idk how I missed this. I remember reading it yet somehow it didn't register. I feel so stupid.

Yep, importer usually pays tariff unless specifically stated the seller is covering it. Used to be under a certain amount of value was waived under the de minimus exemption, that ended August 29.

I got screwed on a fishing reel that was supposed to ship from Japan in July and didn’t ship till August 30th

When you look at the dhl bill it’ll be like half actual tariff and half dhl bs fees
