I wanted to share, because I get the feeling Rokslide likes Tikka rifles...

I bought my first Tikka T3x in 30-06, and I'm pretty excited about it! I got it for really good deal at Cabela's. I threw on a limbsaver recoil pad. The stock one felt pretty darn stiff. After I put some rounds through it, I plan on getting it cerakoted. Normally, I would go stainless, but Cabela's didn't offer a T3x Lite 30-06 in stainless, but with the discounts I I got, cerakoting it, I will still be under the cost of a stainless version. I'm ok with that.

I originally had a CVA Cascade, and I really liked it, but I was not a fan of the bolt being able to open on safety. It came open a few times on me during elk season. Not something I thought about when I purchased the rifle. Live and learn...

The guy at Cabela's said this one should help me find the elk :)

Welcome to the club! I have a 30-06 as well. Soon I will be purchasing another Tikka of smaller caliber for this fall. You will not be disappointed!

You may have joined the tikka cult.. However you missed the memo on a true RSS! Read up on scopes, rings, proper mounting, etc. You will thank me later. Spend your days at the range practicing. Not sighting in your rifle. Congrats on your new gun.

Me too, I just got my first one this week. It’s one of the Ranahans that eurooptic is running on sale.

223, 20” threaded barrel, and suprisingly good iron sights (which went to make way for a scope). It’s got a slightly oversized composite bolt knob I really like also.

I’ve got two more of the $599 300WSMs on the way that I’ll be using for builds. Now I just need my Rokstok to show up.

I just bought my first Tikka a few months back. Also a .30-06 but a stainless roughtech ember version. Really impressed in most all regards with this rifle. So much I bought my wife a 6.5 CM a few weeks ago and we put her Ruger American Gen 1 up for sale.

I have a Tikka in .223, one in 7mmRM, and working on building a 6ARC. Tikka is probably all I will buy if I'm not doing anything custom. Congrats on your first Finland Woodpecker!

I have three - a 223 Rem, 234 Win, and a 308 Win. in the T3 Lite. All shoot great with tailored reloads. All function flawlessly. Don't think you can go wrong with a Tikka.

My only complaint is the recoil with full loads in the 308. I solved that problem by developing a reduce power load using 125 Nosler BT's and H4895.

If you’re using the factory sissy pad, it’s a hockey puck. Switch to a Limbsaver and shoot full power loads.

As Pharmseller says, The limb saver pad makes a huge difference in felt recoil. I have two tikka T3’s, One in 30-06 and one and 7 MM 08. The limb saver makes the ‘06 reasonable, and turned the 7-08 into a real pussy cat.
