My first experience with high end glass

I have had a pair of Leupold bx2 10x42s for a couple years, had to send them in for a messed up eye cup and picked up some Maven C1 10x42s earlier in the year. The Mavens impressed me, especially for the money but I decided I wanted some 8s for a bigger FOV and less shake...Long story short I picked up some Razor UHD 8x42s from eurooptic because they were a hell of a deal and holy crap. Its almost like my eyes get sucked into those things and I do not have to use the focus wheel nearly as much. I am sure theres a name for it but its like my eyes can focus on different distances without touching the wheel. I was definitely surprised at how much better they really were. The FOV is massive too and it doesn't feel like looking through a tube anymore, like comparing a regular movie to Imax. I can only imagine what a pair of NL's may be like...

I think depth of field is the term you are looking for.

This is why one should carefully consider whether they ever look through alpha glass, especially when in the field. You can't see all the difference inside a store.

I thought that was the term but I wasn’t sure. But it’s a game changer for sure in thick brush. It’s like being able to look through stuff and see both sides without having to work the focus wheel

Yup, makes it feel 3D rather than a flat picture.

Now imagine using 15x56 to look into the shadows and grass, through the branches below a palo verde tree. For a tiny deer. At 1500 yards. In 90 degree weather. With mirage.

It’s why we southwest desert hunters love our big alpha glass to pick apart what looks uninhabitable to many.

That europtic deal is a killer deal on some true alpha glass, the UHD. Lots of people suffer from Vortex derangement syndrome and will never take a look at that glass. I have Meostar HD's, a 10x and 8x SLC, Gold Ring HD, and a couple others, and those UHD's take a back seat to none of these. Only downside is the size of the original UHD.

The quality of glass and unconditional no fault warranty is pretty amazing for the price. I have an irrational fear of dropping them or something completely my fault and being hosed n
