And it was slightly scratched in transit 😑. Apparently the selling gun store packed this thing horribly, bolt loose in the package and scratched the barrel.

What would yall do? These guns are damn hard to find.. what a bummer

Sorry, I am no help. Except for my granddad’s level action that is already beat up, rifles are tools to me.

Well, I guess there was a time that it mattered to me. My priority was on the looks above function. When function mattered more, I quit worrying.

Now my stuff gets marks from the first range trip, if not earlier from the handling to get the scope mounted.

I get that some people look at them as tools and also want to have them look nice. That’s beyond my personality.

When I look at my granddad’s rifle, the marks makes it cool. Maybe give your rifle a life and look at the marks as part of the cool story about how it’s hard to find and you rescued it from its ugly stepmother of a gun store.

As an attorney, things are never worth the stress and fight for me… I wouldn’t even bring it up to the store unless you have some sort of connection to it and you know they would care. Maybe that contributed to realizing I could stop caring about little things or the stress would kill me.

That’s very frustrating sorry it happened to you. I’d contact them and see what they say. Did you get pictures during unboxing?

contact the gun store. ask for $50 or $100 refunded to your card for their error. otherwise you're going to request a label for them to take it back, plus any transfer fees you already had to pay. between CC fees and return shipping, they should realize $50-100 is worth not getting a "damaged" firearm back.

I hate to hear of this for you. As for me - at minimum I would be on the phone to the dealer. At least it may save someone else from a poor packing job.

At a minimum give them a call and a pic and let them know they did a poor job, maybe they will do something for you. If you did the transfer, it’s yours!
