I’ll include 200 pieces of once fired/ fully produced Lapua 284Win brass.

Rifle weighs approximately 7lbs, maybe an ounce over or under including the magazine.

Was brass recently available? I bought 100pcs of Lapua a while ago and have a PBB tikka prefit but haven't put it together yet.
Not that I'm aware of, I put an ad in the classifieds and the OP tagged me in time thankfully, got lucky!

Here is how the rifle that started this thread looks now. I put a Stockys stock on it and had the barrel fluted by Kampfeld. I've been shooting it in this configuration since April. I am pretty happy with everything about it now and would say it is "done". 20230801_200400.jpg20230801_200324.jpg20230801_200542.jpgHere is a 10 shot group from this week. I moved the scope forward a little and shot this group to rezero the scope.Ballistic-X-Export-2023-07-31 21_50_22.936855.jpg

Are you making your own kydex cheek rests? It’s a great idea having something that springs around the existing stock. I saw someone do something similar in carbon fiber for an airplane - the new part was molded over the existing with nothing more than packing tape separating the layup. A great use for Kydex.

Yes, I make them. I think they look better than the ones I have seen for sale.

Looks great. How did you attach?

It is really thin 2-sided tape that I have available at work. I use an adhesion promoter from 3M and it sticks really well. Without the adhesion promoter the 2-sided tape does not stick to some plastics very good.

They look really good. What have you found to work good for holding them in place? Or is it just held on by the clam-shell fit and pressure of the kydex?

Do you have any load info for 180s with the 6.5 staball? I have a pound I want to try. What charge did you start with? Where did you hit pressure?
Did you end up trying this combo? I’ve got some staball I’d like to try in mine. It’s been impressive in some other cartridges and the burn rate seems about right.

I did try it. I can't remember much about how many grains I used. The accuracy was fine but the speed wasn't any better than H4350 so I stuck with that.

Does that reamer have extra free bore to allow the shallower seating depth/longer COL? Thx!

Yes it does but I don't know how much. It is pretty good for the 162 eldm but could be a little longer. Somewhere in this thread I have the CBTO listed. It does have a fairly tight neck on lapua brass. Tight enough that I decided to neck trim a little.

Very nice setup! I have a 284 win gap mcgowen barrel screwed onto a Ruger American that shoots really well. Have you ran into any issues with the chamber neck being too tight for non turned brass? My rifle shoots fine and chambers round fine but definitely a snug fit for Peterson and Lapua brass.

Here is the Ruger American I put together. Could use some fluting and a brake at some point but haven’t gotten around to it.
