I’m pretty new to the muzzleloading field and I am preparing for my first mule deer hunt and am curious as to what people carry in the field while hunting. All of the muzzleloader hunting I’ll be doing will be backpack hunting, so going back to the truck to clean it or grab powder isn’t really something I’ll be doing. What do you guys carry for cleaning supplies in the mountains? How many rounds are you bringing? Thanks.

Going over mine for my first ML mule deer hunt as well.
10 charge tubes, 10 bullets, primers (at least 15), ball handle, bullet starter (rarely ever use), moist patches in a ziplock, dry patches in ziplock, plug wrench, scewdriver, spare fron sights, some teflon tape, and electrical tape.

I carry 6 to 10 or so speed loaders (depends on truck hunting or backpack hunting). Two to three in my pocket with a t-handle and some loose 209s, and the rest in my pack. I wear a multitool on my belt.

In my pack:
Extra speedloaders
Bipod/shooting sticks/tripod
Spare T-handle
Extra 209s
Patches
Duct tape or elect tape (for muzzle)
Cleaning jag
Plug wrench
Spare front sight fiber optic insert
Screw driver/hex wrench to remove barrel from stock

In the truck:
Spare ramrod
Extra powder/bullets/209s
Spare rifle (sometimes)
Cleaning kit
