Recommend a light 1 person backpack tent pls.

I’m trying a xdome 1+ with aluminum poles next drop.
Had ba,Nemo,msr,xmid and now mtn star.
X mid was the best quality by far and i hope that transfers to the x dome 1+.
Would love to have a niak but not sure I need it or can afford it.

I have a Kuiu Summit Star and it works for my purposes. I use mine with the floor and nest but it is a PITA to set up compared with a free standing tent. I would not want to be trying to set it up in high winds or impending rain. I also don't care for the fly and nest concept that is so popular these days because it doesn't provide the same wind and rain protection as a tent with an integral tub floor and separate fly. Here in the east where I am setting up well below treeline those design aspects are not as big a negative as they would be above treeline in the west.

For those of you that have mentioned the X-mid, have you used it without the inner tent? I have had thoughts about trying a floorless shelter but I’m not sure I am totally committed to that idea. If you could do that with the X-mid, you could have the best of both worlds if a floorless tent turns out to not be your forte. Trying to drop some weight from the MSR Hubba Hubba 2 for the fall.
