Word on the street is that OnX is adding an option for trespass insurance at $10 a month. Might need to drop the (trespassing) insurance agent and just go with what OnX offers. Glad they are backing their product with insurance.

Would my dependents be covered under one of these policies or would I have to purchase additional coverage? After all a family that trespasses together, stays together, dont want to hurt my core values.
Maybe OnX will start offering a free pair of wire cutters, so its easier to get on the neighbors property with out ripping our camo all to shreds on the barbed wire.

This is appalling. I can’t believe you can sit here and talk about core values- in the same breath as vandalizing your hosts property in front of your kids. Carrying trespass insurance in no way shape or form justifies vandalism.Guess I know who I won’t be sharing a campfire with.

As a #DIY #Solo #PublicLand #TrespassInsurance Hunter I find this very offensive

My understanding is that they are covered under 1 circumstance. They are running a code (MuLEyFReaK) that allows the insurance to cover the entire family. They even provide the wire cutters when the code is used.

It's not easy being an appalling person, but I'm doing my best. In this day and age of political correctness this world needs a few more self centered ass hats. Might just have let my five year old shoot the buck that's been hanging out up the canyon from my house the last couple years, nothing like fresh June venison, it's so tender this time of year, a sous vide cooker is not needed.

Shoot it for him. Just make sure you have a special youth tag.

I leave all electronic technology behind when I set foot into the back country. I hate the idea of tainting the environment by tampering with or otherwise influencing the natural magnetic / electrical field that surrounds and moves through the earth and all living things. Also animals are really sensitive to those same frequencies in some cases and having a gps or GoPro or cell phone can get you busted just as quickly as not using scent cover spray and wearing the wrong camo pattern.

Which is to say I am completely unaware of the different technological challenges and advances that have been faced with the advent of map overlays east and west.

Just get the Trespass insurance and be done with it. My trespass insurance is $8 a month and some years I’ll use it 2times. Way cheaper and more convenient than paying a fine or trying to get permission or paying a trespass fee.

Does poaching insurance cover trespass also, or do I need both? I figure there should be some kind of comprehensive umbrella policy that covers trespass, poaching, wanton waste, getting lost, etc...

Great news! I was able to bundle poaching and trespass insurance with my ATV insurance, which also covers me for driving off marked trails and in Wilderness areas! All told it was about $78 per month for the coverages, with a $100 deductible (not including regular ATV insurance). A little pricey, but waaaay cheaper than tag fees+trespass fees. I’m covered up to 10 miles inside of private boundaries or wilderness areas, which is plenty. My coverage covers all major game species, up to 350” for elk, 180” for deer, and 80” for antelope. I also got coverage for a grizzly, since I’ll be in Montana this year and I plan on getting me a nice rug!!!

I just purchased a personal drone package. I have to say it is awesome. The drone has a 500 pound capacity, and a 200 mile range, so it can hall all my gear and my harvests. Came with all the coverage too, including insurance for traveling in wilderness areas, and guaranteed record book harvests, along with unlimited C 1 and shoot um tags, a film crew and multiple sponsors. And all this for less than a Governors Tag.

You need seperate policies, bundling is the way to go.

Just don't bother buying the Lacey Act policy they try to stick on there... it's worthless.

Ha ha! You stated withhold judgement till court reaches a decision, they did. He';s guilty. Not being a prick, don't have one. Figure that out.
You stated "he's seems like a nice guy".
As far as my personality, guess gain. You got called out for defending him that is all. Guess you're showing your true colors as well.
I know full well how mapping companies get their info. I do my due diligence when researching a piece of land that may or may not have access. It starts at the County Assessor's office not a GPS or phone.

What ever man, you jumped right in without reading the thread then got your panties in a wad when someone pointed out you were wrong about the case being settled.

You know what, this is too much on my part. I was not trying to attack you personally. I just don't buy anyone, not just you, defending a guy that was caught multiple times doing the same thing. Yes, he may be a "nice guy", but in my book he is also a poacher and that is what I was commenting on.
I don't know you at all and will refrain from passing judgement on your character. As far as my personality, judge me as you wish .
I'll try to avoid stepping on your toes from now on.
Agree to disagree?
The problem I’m having is I don’t think we are in disagreement. Nothing I’ve posted is as you implied. I’ve not defended him the first time. Quite the opposite in reality. But, you wadded up YOUR pantys at the fact I didn’t run amock hanging this guy. It was trespassing. Let the landowner hang him. Life’s too short to lose sleep over this guy.

You can continue to ignore my posts and their content. Or relax, slow down and read, and hopefully understand it when you do. Something You’ve yet to accomplish.

Guess the state of Utah thought it was poaching not just trespassing but whatever it's just legal jargon

It’s funny. Everyone loves trespass insurance now- but in 5 years when it’s mandatory that you carry trespass insurance in order to purchase your hunting license no one will be smiling. If you’re happy with your current plan you’ll be able to keep it they’ll say.

Trespass insurance isn’t even a day old and it’s already going to shit.

Juan, does your trespass insurance office provide any discounts if the person applying also purchases one of your previously-worn packs used to harvest trophies?

What coverage limits do you recommend for a hardcore Muley Freak type repeat player trespasser? $50,000 enough for the YouTuber who hunts for a living and deserves a slap on the wrist at most?

I’ll be honest- we don’t really handle those type of clients- it’s just too expensive. We have various algorithms for each state that factors in typical trespass fines for 1st, 2nd, 3rd offenses, typical trespass or nonguided private land outfitted hunt fees, typical court cost, etc etc and then factors in the the personal history and risk factors of the individual hunter- and then we shop that around to be the best rate for the guy- on our end it doesn’t matter if you’re a platinum level client who enjoys our trophy hunt pack resale service, as well as our other offerings- or if you are only looking for trespass insurance at the basic “member” account level you as our CLIENT, are de facto our employer and we work hard to get you the best protection, the best access, the best memories, and the best trophies because otherwise- we’d just be everybody else.

You will receive a policy tailored to and appropriate for your personal application and point aqusition strategy.
