I just emailed Kryptek and let them know that I won't be purchasing their products any longer due to their support of Muley Freak. If anyone can stomach watching one of their videos to get a sponsor list and post it, that'd be great. I think there's many of us that would drop certain brands if we found out that those companies were supporting illegal activities related to hunting. There's always controversy surrounding the decisions of outdoor companies, but I think this is a clear-cut case of supporting the enemy. I don't, and never will, believe that a second offense is a "mistake". It was willful, thought out, and deliberate.

Bluetick, would you do this in a separate post and ask people to post a list of sponsors and contact them saying you won’t use their products unless they distance themselves from Muley Freak? I think it would be good for those who have left this thread behind after so many pages. Boycott Muley Freak!

Why don’t you go do your own dirty work? In fact I’ll tell you what, if you want to boycott all these companies and get your 2nd pound of flesh on this guy, go for it but I’m not gonna let you turn my forum into a big sewer.

We don’t support what Mr. muley freak did, at all. But I also know the crap tone that this kind of stuff brings to a forum.

This is going to turn into a 300 post crap-slinging contest.

Do what bluetick and a few others did, email Kryptek yourself, let them know you won’t be supporting them. You might actually get heard that way.

I’m not trying to protect Kryptek here. They can hire who they want and they can deal with the consequences.

But I’m not gonna let rokslide turn into this as it never fails, mob rules on these threads. The truth rarely gets to the surface when a bunch of Internet jockeys are vying for attention.

I respectfully disagree, Robby. I think a boycott for those who want to participate and a list of sponsors for people to contact is a great idea. Sounds like you’re not okay with it. I think it’s a little strange but that’s fine.

I’m done with this particular thread regarding Muley Freak after seeing where Robby and Ryan fall on it and jumping in to guide things.

boycott who you want, I just don’t want the thread on my forum because it turns into a dog pile.

Everybody with an ax to grind because they got a blister on their foot, or their site guard came off their bow suddenly turns into a boycotter.

I don’t mind the occasional post of “I don’t like this company and I’m not gonna support ‘em anymore“ that’s not what I’m talking about.

And if you don’t like our guiding principles that we don’t want to continue to rake and rake people over the coals who have already made their bed to lay in , then maybe none of rokslides for you.

Muley freak has made his own bed, and I’m perfectly comfortable letting him lie in it. I’m just not going to drag the tone of this forum down with it.

You bring up some wolf posts that I’m not even familiar with, but they must not of risen to the level of this one, because nobody’s PMing me about those posts.

I’m not trying to squelch your anger, I’m trying to protect our forum.

Go tear it up out there, it’s a big wide world with a lot of places to post.

I agree with the way that Robby is running the forum. It's his forum and he can choose to run it the way he sees fit. Too many times members of forums crucify individuals for past wrongs. Everyone makes mistakes, I know that I've made my fair share.

I went to the same church as Cory and the same high school as Erik (although both are a couple years younger than me). Also, their headquarters are pretty close to me. I want to support local folks especially ones who good representatives for hunting.

The hardest pill to swallow is Kryptek. I started buying their camo before I retired from the Air Force because I wanted to support a vet owned company. My wife bought me my first Kryptek outfit for Christmas when we were dirt poor and I've used it on every hunt for the last 5 or 6 years. Sadly, she is even saying that Kryptek has lost touch with their base.

Looks like I'll be switching to Kuiu, because they helped put big horn sheep back on Antelope Island. I'll support companies who put their money on line for conservation.

I respect what Robby is saying. This is his forum, a damn good one I will add, and things can run how he sees fit. I only belong to this forum, no other forums or social media, because I enjoy the ethics that Rokslides owners and moderators hold us all to. I hate to see a company like Muley Freak flourish amid damning evidence of their illegal activities, but the #instaFaceTubers will decide that. I'm not calling for anyone to boycott anything, I do feel compelled to make sure people dont sweep this under the rug and continue to support criminals. I would, however, like to do this respectfully and within the bounds of Rokslides owners. I started another thread to list MuleyFreak's sponsors, if that thread needs taken down I will gladly do it. I do feel that the companies supporting these individuals and their enterprises will take note if they receive a flood of negative from the people who ultimately have to open their wallets to keep the industry alive.

Thanks, and I ask that you take that thread down please as I think this one makes everybody’s point. I’m sure there’s someone on here that will gladly post it on their Facebook, and you might even reach more people there than you will on here.

And to be clear, I agree with everybody’s anger, and I agree with the approach that you took in letting Kryptek know that you’re not happy.

This is just gone on long enough.

So your supporting Muley Freak, but boycotting Kryptek?

Thank you. Now does anybody want to talk about application season or gear?

On a positive note, my 2 older boys passed hunters ed today. Maybe Eric should have paid more attention to the hunters education curriculum, he may have known better if he did.
