How many days of gear can you guys get away with a MR Longbow? Strapped stuff to bottom and sides? With or without load shelf? Pictures appreciated.

How many days of gear can you guys get away with a MR Longbow? Strapped stuff to bottom and sides? With or without load shelf? Pictures appreciated.

Food is going to be your limit I'm betting....had a buddy do 5 days with a bivy as shelter, long pockets on the sides. That bag was exploding. So food and your sleep system really dictate that, but I'd say 1-3 days tops before you start needing the load shelf.

I've done gear and food for 7 days. I had some of my food in stuff sacks lashed to the sides via the compression straps, and my tent strapped to the bottom of the pack. Everything else was inside.

I bought a Metcalf Gen 2 bag the last year, and like that one much better. I've done 9 day trips with that one, everything inside the bag.
