Moving to Idaho or Colorado

I'm planning on relocating to either Idaho or Colorado with family and kids to start a new hunting journey there. I have once hunted elk with colleagues in ID few years back but been reading a lot about CO as well. Please any advice will be greatly appreciated

Colorado. Idaho is too cold and far north. Colorado has over twice as many elk.

Think about your kids future, you need to look a few years down the road and gauge what hand they will be dealt.
And of course, happy wife happy life.
With that said, I've never lived in either ID or CO, but three separate sets of my friends moved to CO in the last five years, all have left now.

It's kinda funny, I read local news stories on FB about home affordability. The amount of people that say
" I moved here before the prices went crazy, but now my kids won't be able to afford a house here"

These are are notable. CO is becoming the next CA sadly. Costs are up, gov. is soft on crime, hunting/gun rights steadily being attacked, etc. Its frustrating.

I'm not gonna lie I love being able to get into mountains and a variety of hunting after a short drive but I'm also concerned about where the state is headed and wondering what my long term plan is gonna be cause I feel like eventually I'll get sick of the BS here if it continues on its trend. Again I expect many a feller that lived in CA who loved freedoms and the outdoors some decades back problem felt the same.

That said if you aren't on board with gutting hunting and gun rights we could certainly use some assistance in the voting block.

My wife and I do not expect to be able to retire in ID anymore. I use to work at a highway district up here, and if I stayed with them come retirement, we could not afford the CDA area. And im working on trying to get into another public sector again, and still won't be able to afford it.

Where do you live now. We all get a bit restless and think the grass is greener elsewhere but in reality more of us need to embrace what we have where we are right now. If you think you’re gonna move to Idaho or Colorado and buy an “affordable” home and find deer and elk behind every tree, you’re wrong
