Moving to Bristol TN/VA

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone on here lives in Tricities area? My wife and I are likely moving down there at the end of the year/beginning of next year to get family help with our newborn twins! I am looking for suggestions on which state to live in? Mainly looking for pro and cons for taxes, hunting opportunities, land cost, anything else you can think of! My in laws haven't lived there very long, so they aren't too familiar with the area either!

I appreciate any insight!

I lived in Jonesborough, TN for 5 years. I would always recommend TN due to no state income tax. It has been 12 years since I lived there so I am not sure about the current land costs, but at the time, it was relatively cheap compared to some other areas I have lived. I enjoyed my time in East TN.

15 years ago I might have said VA, but nowadays TN all the way

+1 for TN. Public land access is plentiful up in the mountains, but the deer numbers are low and you gotta work for them. Pretty country up there though and lots to do in Johnson City area
