Looking for opinions on which is better and why. Mountainsmith is cheaper especially on sale but is the sl2 superior and if so enough to make it worth the extra dough?
Just got a new Mountainsmith and sent it to Bearpaw Wilderness Designs for a stove jack install. Got it back tonight and looks like John did great work.
I have a stove on the way from Ed T. and feel like I'll be well prepared for whatever an early season mountain hunt may throw at me.
I went with the Mountainsmith because of the post I had seen here about it, and it was less $$. I tried to pick up the SL2 that was in the classified, but had no luck.
What did it cost for the stove jack install, if you don't mind me asking?
No kidding I've been grappling back and forth for a year now on which way to go. At the moment another thread on here has me inspired to sew my own megatarp, with the hopes that it will serve my purposes and give me the confidence to make whatever modifications are necessary to make it more comfortable.Gah, too many options and not enough money to try them all out.
Sl1 will be here tomorrow. Will pitch em both and you can use your imagination to bump it up to the sl2 next to the LT
