Mountain Hardwear is down coming in at about 9 oz and the Sitka Aerolite is a newer synthetic coming in at 16 oz. Sitka is 20d face and back vs the thinner 10d on Mountain Hardwear. With current sales I can get both at about the same price. Which way would you go and why?

I own and like both jackets. The mountain hardware is warm, lite and packs small so it is in my pack all September.
Due to wt and bulk the Sitka doesn’t make it into the pack when it’s dry out. It is my go to daily wear and at camp or if there is significant precipitation in the forecast.

Sitka.

I don't really see much utility in the Ghost Whisperer for hunting purposes. Not enough face denier for an outer layer when on the move and not enough insulation when stopped. Its more of a summer ultralight backpacking piece, IMO.

My ghost whisper is my go to pack puffy insulation piece for three plus years now. No puffy is a brush buster, if you use it that way bring lots of tape.

its too warm for me when moving but works awesome when glassing or at camp.
