Most Reliable Cell Cam?

My experimentation over the years has shown Spartan to be far and away the most consistent and reliable. Not that others aren't good, or perfectly serviceable, but the Spartans just work, every single time.

+1 for Tactacam. Very happy with the performance of the Reveal X 3 last season. Easy to change send frequency to save battery when needed

I have two Spypoints that are 5 years old. Both card readers died this year. They were reliable but picture quality sucks. Gonna trash the Spypoints and get another brand. I am reading this thread thoroughly!

I really like my reveal tactacams. Havent had a failure in 3 years. Currently using 6-7 at a time and I like the choice of monthly or annual subscription.

I had terrible luck with Moultrie and would not recommend them.

I've used Stealthcam for a long time. I am a glutton for punishment. Some of them work great, some are absolute garbage. And their CS isn't great.

I’ve been using Stealth Cams for the last 3 years. Definitely not the most reliable. Not the best quality either. I’ve had several cams right out of the box that didn’t send photos. Thankfully Stealth Cam replaced them free of charge. Definitely looking to head another direction. Hard to argue with how affordable the Stealth Cams are though.

Cuddeback TRACKS have been great for me -- this will be my third season using them and the batteries last all season for me no problem, and their latest update to data plans the offer include 100% HD pictures (no more pixelated thumbnail sized pics). Very few blank pictures taken too. Worth a try if you haven't.

I pulled the trigger on a couple Tactacam's this year. So far they have impressed me. Pricing is decent, quality is good, and very minimal signal issues deep in the mountains.

24 cameras in the feild, Spartan, Moultrie, Spypoint, Camojojo. The most returned because of failure the Moultrie delta base. 10 in 1 year. Least returns Spartan second best Spypoint. This information dates back to 2010.

I really like the newer tactacam 3.0 pro. The picture quality is pretty good. I’ve had decent luck with the moultrie edges and now all the pictures come in as HD.

For the price I haven’t been able to beat spypoint. I’ve got 5 that I’ve run consistently for 4 years. A 5th one is a replacement they sent.

I've tried Moultrie Edges for 3 full seasons, happy happy.

I've done reviews on this subform of my exprience. @Brock A and @Ryan Avery are doing one now.

And their CS hours are generous and I've used them a few times from the mountain.

I did have one camera die (after a year) and while I missed some images during the downtime, they replaced it.

The best part is i've not been disconnected due to low signal and this is over 8 or so cameras, some deployed multiple years. I've had days of no connections, but they've always come back online without having to visit the camera.

(and Yes, Moultrie is an advertiser, but I'd use them anyway. Half the cameras I paid for out-of-pocket with no discount.)

How you like the Camojojo? I have four of them with solar panels. They have been very good for a long while now.

I have several Tactacams, and am mostly satisfied but do have a few issues.

1.) Ive noticed they have to have really good service to take pics reliably. Ive walked by some with marginal signal and never got a pic of myself on the app. Not sure yet if it got a pic of me on the SD card.

2.) I had one camera lose the IR flash, and would only send solid black pics at night (no flash), but normal pics in the daytime. Havent sent it in to Tactacam to be repaired yet.

Also, Im on a lot of whitetail Facebook groups, and the overwhelming majority of guys there recommend WiseEye trail cams. Ive never used one, but the picture quality they upload on FB looks good. Just havent seen the WiseEye brand mentioned in the thread yet, so thought I would bring it in.

Also not a fan of Tactacam solar panels. They have to have direct sunlight to work. I have one on the north side of a mountain slope and I am already losing internal battery power from it due to the southern setting sun.

They have been flawless. Great sound and video. That said I have added 5 more Spypoint's since that original post. Because they are better video and if I put the. In single image state they take quite good images. Audio is as good as Camojojo.
