EuroOptic has a blued tikka 6.5cm for under $700 with rebate. That is definitely the best value out there. I know it’s $200 over your budget but it’s worth every penny over a $500 gun.

No mods needed and feeds and functions so much better and any less expensive gun on the market.

Interesting. My American outshoots the tikka I owned and it was $500 less at that time.

Tikka is great rifle but $200 over a budget is kind of out of the budget.

Ruger American rifles to tend to be very accurate just like a tikka but that’s where they stop being comparable

I'm on the same hunt for another gun for our family. I'm pretty sure I'm settled on the Ruger American Ranch gen 2.
We already have a Savage Axis and I don't like the safety or the magazine that I often find is not fully engaged. Plus, the Ruger is threaded and I have a suppressor in the works.

You can buy a tikka for $650 after rebates so it’s not $600 more like $200 more. To me it’s worth $200 to have a smooth running reliably feeding rifle that is known for being dependable. They also have a great trigger out of the box.

I have AICS/AR15 mags in mine with no issues.

I had the super lite that was $990 at that time. My American was $375 out the door. Of course the new gen2 isn’t as cheap.

Tikkas are nice but I’ve yet to find one that shoots better than any of the Americans I own.

A uncle of mine had a tikka one that had a magazine fall out. Every gun manufacturer will have some issues. The rotary mags have issues. I never loaded mine with 4 rounds. The gen 2 American has replaced three of my gen1s.

I never had a magazine issue with any of my guns. Maybe I’m lucky. That includes my Tikka.

I bought a savage 12FV cabelas model 6.5 creedmoor a couple years ago for $300. That is probably the most accurate gun we have. That thing just flat out shoots. I did replace the factory stock with a custom Boyd’s.

This is why I'll never buy another Ruger, for whatever reason my RAP 6 Creedmoor would jam with both style magazines. I sent it to them 4 times and they sent me a video of their tech running the bolt as fast and as hard as he could and it would "function", but it was smashing the tips against the back of the barrel before chambering too. I told them pull one out and look at it after you chamber, and also run that bolt like an 11 yr old girl, because that's what this rifle is for. They refused.

I have 3 Tikkas that function flawlessly.
