What is the Most accurate & best value 6.5 Creedmoor under $500? Would consider an aftermarket trigger or spring upgrade to reduce trigger weight

EuroOptic has a blued tikka 6.5cm for under $700 with rebate. That is definitely the best value out there. I know it’s $200 over your budget but it’s worth every penny over a $500 gun.

No mods needed and feeds and functions so much better and any less expensive gun on the market.

I would look for a used Tikka if the $500 is a hard limit. However, in my experience those cheap Savage Axis usually shoot pretty good. Trigger is awful but there's a $20 fix. A decent scope that holds zero is going to be near $1k, so maybe put money towards that instead.

Tikkas a great, but everyone has a different budget. Savage's kill stuff just as dead.

Could always go with a Howa. The factory Hogue stocks are kinda crap but you could pick up an aftermarket stock down the road. My 6.5 Grendel in a bell and Carlson stock is a tack driver.

Ditto regarding the Axis line from Savage if the 500 is a hard stop. Otherwise, a Tikka as mentioned. Also might consider the Savage 110 line. I have a 110 Storm in .223 that’s a great shooter.

I'm going to be buying one of these new Savage Axis 2 Pro for my kids' hunting rifle. Best part is they come stock left or right hand, regular or compact length of pull, better ergonomic stock, pic rail and threaded barrel. It should be right around $500. If you don't need threaded barrel, there are cheaper versions that aren't the pro.Screenshot_20241114_064359_Chrome.jpg

Umm.. No.
Haha, better than the original Axis... yes. I wouldn't even look the Axis before now because I didn't like the stock at all.

Edit to add: better is relative. It's not a rokstok, but for a cheapo it might not be terrible. I have yet to handle one

Also main selling points for me are the left hand, compact, and threaded barrel, which I guess is the unholy trifecta that is hard to find without dumping in more money or taking a chop saw to a plastic stock.

At that price point the Ruger American predator/ranch has those features and a better ergonomic stock, IMHO. They're known to shoot well too.

You are correct its much better than the previous gen, I fondled one the other day

OP Hoestly just pay a little more and get a tikka

I cant quite put my finger on it, but that stock has alot going on. Looks odd to me. Looks like I would have a hard time getting comfortable behind that. But who knows. Havnt seen one in person. 🤔

I have one of the Original Savage Axis in 6.5 CM.
Its a hell of an accurate rifle.
They arent a high end rifle by any means. But you put a trigger kit, bolt lift kit longer bolt handle and a Stock on them and they are a hell of a rifle for the money.
Mine will shoot MOA all day with 143 ELD-X Precision Hunter factory rounds

They have definitely filled a niche. They have enabled a lot of “ regular Joes “ that might not have the funds for a higher level rifle to be able to go to the woods with a gun that can put metal on target .
