Does anyone recommend a 6 pack boat or a small charter to go fishing with in late June in Monterey bay? I'm not really interested in a big cattle boat but I'll be there for a few days and would love to get out.

Thanks,

Brock

Not to familiar with the six packs but the Kahuna out of Moss Landing will usually run with only 20 to 25 people. If you go in the middle of the week you get the crowd that usually knows how to fish that wont cross your line every five minutes. It's a clean boat with a good skipper and deckhand.
Rock cod or Salmon?
There is a six pack out of Santa Cruz called Irish, they always seem to be reeling fish in when I see them on the water.

I'll fish for either, I really enjoy rock fishing but if the salmon bite is hot I'll fish that too. Thanks for the recommendations.

Trollers have been doing so so, but the mooch bite on the party boats has been SLOW the last couple years. If you go with Kahuna I recommend a Point Lopez trip for rock fish. Good luck!

If you want to fish for salmon I would recommend captain Khanh of NorCal sport fishing. There are a couple of six pack boats in Santa Cruz as well. They advertise on Bayside marine.com. Have not fished with them. How many people will be with you?

Thanks! I will check into them. As of right now. Just me.

Let me know when you are in the area. I fish Monterey bay a fair amount. Mostly for salmon. Have a 19’ arima that is very seaworthy. If things work out I would be happy to meet you and spend a day fishing.
