Headed to Maine in mid-September with my wife. Would like to do a ~6 hour private charter. Going to be staying in Kennebunkport, but will have a car so can easily get to nearby coastal towns.

Anyone got a fishing guide they recommend up that way?

Thanks

I dont have any referrals. Lots of striped bass up that way. You may also be able to get flounder or pollock. I dont think there would be any/many cod.

Google is a good way to go. The better ones are booked but may have some cancellations or can refer u to a diff capt.

KBPT proper isn't necessarily the best striper fishing. You need to go either north or south of the village. If you want something really interesting, look at trying to do sight fishing up in Casco Bay, a bit North.

Plenty of great beach/surf fishing if you can get access. Mid Sept can be really good for the Striper bite. You can stand in the surf and have 40 pounders feeding in a foot of water.

Here's a good forum to learn about local conditions: Maine Fly Fish

I would looove to fly fish em, but unfortunately my wife doesn’t fly fish. Maybe I’ll bring my rod and try some surf fishing on my own. Charter I’ll be looking for conventional gear that my wife knows how to handle.
