Montana nonresident elk tag

Wondering if anyone else has ran into this or if it’s a pretty common thing. We applied in a group for an elk and deer tag and was awarded a tag. I received my tag about 2 weeks ago in the mail. The other guy in my group still hasn’t received his. Is this normal?

It’s definitely normal for Montana fish wildlife and parks to make mistakes. They are probably the worst of any state. I wouldn’t worry about it. If you want, you can call 406-444-2950 and ask about it. That number will get you directly to the licensing department.

I chose the e-tag or whatever they call it, never got anything in the mail, but it was there in the Montana fwp phone app. When you harvest you "validate" it in the app. My taxidermist thought i was full of it when I explained to him I had an e-tag.

Maybe your buddies chose the e-tag option.

Check if they did the etag option. Also, my wife and I have had tags the same year and they came about a week apart.
