Just pulled my first elk tag (non resident big game combo) and am going out to K Bar L Ranch mid November!

Curious if any other Rokslider’s have been to their ranch? Share any and all tips and tricks gents I am new to hunting.

Punched my first buck tag last year in San Luis Obispo in Cali at Bitterwater Outfitters

Nice man. I had never heard of them before. When I saw $6K for an elk hunt I raised my eyebrows because I thought ranch hunts are going for close to $15K these days in MT, but in looking closer at their website, it looks like you stay at the ranch which is on private, but you ride into "the Bob" every day on horseback and then come back to the ranch each night to sleep. So you are day hunting public land elk. Is that correct?

Sounds like you already booked, but the Bob is not a first time hunt and definitely not something I would see day hunts working out on, logistically speaking anyway.

That sound about right. Accommodations look legit. Will update y’all post hunt on experience

Pretty cool experience and place they have. and that part of the bob has some of the better hunting as far as the bob goes.

Take it for what it’s worth but I’ve got two good buddy’s that have hunted with them a lot. One goes every other year for a business trip. And has had decent success in rifle season but never success in archery (missed a couple shots so that’s on him) And the other has been going the last 3-4 yrs, taken one rifle bull, and took a really nice archery bull last year. Both said the accommodations and food are great. You’ve got to be comfortable hunting in grizzly country. He was saying they had encounters/sightings everyday of his hunt last year . Sounds like a younger couple bought it a few years ago from the previous owners. I’ve talked to him once and seemed like a nice enough guy without being a total salesman. Sounds like a really cool experience but it is the Bob.

they do sound like good people, thanks for the comment. I'm sure the guides will do all they can to give you an opportunity but after reading all the comments about the Bob, its difficult to make a decision.

Jon Boy has been around here for a while and has guided. I would take him at his word. If he says they're good to go, they're good to go.

I know the owners and have a friend that hunts with them every few years. He and his son took two bulls rifle season last year.

Cannot personally comment on hunting but quality family and experience.
