Ya’ll may have read earlier about me leaving a Montana guided hunt in Sept. I was just going to eat the tag after all the disappointment, time, and money, BUT, if anyone knows of a RELIABLE guide with an cancellation or opening, please let me know. I can fly out Wednesday. I was going to go on Moose hunt in Alberta after someone cancelled, but that guide decided Saturday against going out again after his last two hunts (20 days total) seeing no moose. Montana only as I have a general biggame combo. Thanks

Not being facetious....why not hunt the area you were in diy? Sounds like it definitely had elk.

I just don't have the gear and can't afford to hunt out there regularly to justify buying all the gear. Also, I'd probably kill myself packing one out, even though I do Crossfit 5 days a week, packing meat out in multiple trips is a whole other ballgame, I would imagine....

Waypoint Outfitters just had a cancellation and I've followed them since they bought the business. I was always intimated about the all hiking and looked for someone with horses. Time to man up and git er done. So I'll be out there with them in Nov. Thanks for all the PM's and help.

Good luck on hunt take 2, please post how it goes. There's nothing wrong with wanting the niceties of a guided hunt, i did one this fall, but your excuses are terrible.

The gear is but a small fraction of what an outfitted hunt costs, and you could sell it for a small loss after

Fat dudes who don't see a gym all year pack out bulls on the regular. You just have to deal with discomfort a little and not be a pussy about it.
