If your beliefs are it’s lawful what’s stopping you? Seems like most everyone is waiting on someone else to take the chance and foot the bill over the last 140 years. Enough people just do it and stead of talking about it, just maybe everyone could get some clarification from the court system.
The hunters that aren’t talking about it are the ones that have been hunting it alone.
As I stated earlier regardless of the out come, you better be prepared for Confrontation it will happen.
The funny part is once all the bystanders waiting on clarification it’s legal and grab their ladders. That block of BLM will be just like any other Public land all the wildlife will be pushed to private.

If it potentially opens up close to 1,000.000 acres it will help disperse hunters, I've never heard anybody utter the words "we have too much public land to hunt in Montana, let's not try to open more up".

What I told hunters for years, is that it’s never (before the 10ths decision) been determined demonstrably one way or the other. If you do corner cross, there is a chance you could be charged. At that time our department decided to stay out of it just because there was no statute that clearly demonstrated (one way or the other) the legality or illegality of corner crossing. BUT that a county attorney may (which is exactly what happened in Wyoming).

It is sad that our department changed its view (or more likely someone changed it for them), especially in light of the 10ths decision.

I’m all for opening up 1,000,000,000 acres of public land with real access throughout the UNITED STATES not just one state. All public land in the UNITED STATES i thought was owned by the CITIZENS of the UNITED STATES the tax payers “US” me and you.
The problem exists within our government we no longer control the government the government controls “US” and until we make a stand like our “Founding Fathers Did” we are screwed!!!! I couldn’t care less about corner crossings, I do that prevalently or hire a helicopter. I’m not carrying no freaking ladder to go hunt a piece of public land that’s BS. I’m saying we need real access a road a trail that gives you the right to your public lands. The only people that stand up for what they believe in any more, are the liberals they will your city down. Sooner or later we will need to make a stand as a whole or lose it all.

Great example is Stan Kronke (WAL~MART family Billionaire). Google what he tried to do with a land exchange in WY on one of his trophy ranches. Kronke , TRIED to exchange the worthless arid piece of his ranch for some of the best PUBLIC land in the county. This is common operating procedure for these Wal~Mart type families and other greedy land owners, controlling millions of acres of our public land. Pure greed and manipulation of the system.

On the other hand there are the ethical ranchers whose land is not made up of public land and is % private . To those I have complete respect for.

Yes, agreed. Gianforte is the chair of the Montana land board, he is leading this entire land exchange B.S. up. Pretty much similar to what Senator Mike Lee was doing in Utah last year, we need the same type of attention on this as they had in Utah during that whole debacle.

Maybe all you Montana residents should get behind someone like Mr Newberg and support him to be your Senator or Governor. Than you might get something accomplished. I’m a non resident so I already pay 10+ times the $$$$ to hunt on “Our Public Lands” than a resident which is in itself.

Ok I took a deep breath. I apologize I get caught up in the moment especially when our government is screwing us and it seems like no one wants to go the extra mile. Sounds as if you’re contributing to the cause, a lot are not they just want to bitch and moan that pisses me off. I put a lot of time, effort and money into conservation. How is access generally handled when private land is landlocked by other private land?

What about a block of private property surrounded by government land? Could the government decide, for some reason, not to allow access through?

It seems that whether you have private land or public land, you should have the right to access it. Obviously, that could get messy in situations where it didn't previously exist, but it seems it could be worked out.
