I have a 70's with only exterior rust. It's pitted but everything is in good shape.

Rebarrel or buy another one and save it for parts?

It's my favorite gun to shoot & hunt with...

Bore is good and I like the blue steel look over cerakoted.
I guess I could get a new barrel but the cost might be more than the gun is worth so I'm leaning on a used one.

Emory cloth, buff and re-blue. Good to go. Who cares about external blemishes, if it's an accurate hunting tool and not a showpiece.

You could have it refinished in a hot-dip blue for about the same cost, or less, than cerakote.

Depending on how bad it is, it is cheaper to have it refinished and hot blued.

I would only rebarrel if the current barrel had a shooting issue. Cosmetics and just that.

This is midnight blue cerakote. I’ve debated on having my winchester 94 done with it. It’s the closest color i know of to blueing.
