Mini Bug Out alternative

After I discovered I left my Benchmade 535-3 on the hood of my wife's car and it will likely never be recovered, I promptly ordered another one. It took me a long time and lots of money to finally end up with a knife I like so much. So I ordered another and also have a spare from a another lost episode that turned out to be only temporarily lost. I hate paying for them but I'm not satisfied with anything less.

I agree with the vosteed mini psyop. Better steel than s30v, better grips than grivory, same crossbar lock and very similar size.

Kershaw mini Iridium or Vosteed Parallel if you're set on the crossbar lock. Options open up a lot more if you'd look at a frame or liner lock or even button locks.

That is true! D2 tool steel, works very well for $10. However, it is also a more "full size" version comparable to the regular bug out, much larger than the mini bug out.
Your right. I was thinking it was the mini for some reason. Who knows maybe they will make a mini knock off next.

A full size bug out?

I hate the mini.

Its not cheaper, but better in my opinion.

My wife carries the mini, but its too small for me.

In my opinion benchmade hit a slam dunk with the bug out.

Maybe I got them a while ago, but thought I was like $120 in them.
Definitely not cheaper, but a full sized bugout with backspacer and custom blade is about perfection.

The full flat grind slices better, noticably so.

I've had a Hogue Deka (2 of them) and the blade shape is just slightly off, to aggressive a curve on the belly. Plus the plastic handles on the Magnacut version are trash. The G10 handles are nice though.

Buddy carries the Bugout and I carry the Walmart knock-off, put them next to eachother and they're very similar. For $10 it may be worth going from Mini to regular sized.

Definitely not the same in operation (back lock vs ball detent) but I love a spyderco delica for a similar function. Very svelte and lightweight, and significantly cheaper should I loose it.

Thanks for the reply’s. I picked up a mini iridium from Kershaw. I’ll look through suggestions and see if anything else is interesting. I may start carrying my pocket knives without the clips and down in pocket, old school. My grandfather had same knife for eternity. Definitely not putting them in pant pocket while hunting any longer, unless dummy corded. I’m not dead set on specific locks. I’m over the high priced stuff unless it is a fixed blade and attached to something.
