Military Shed Horn Hunting

Guess I should have used my army ranger father nam x3 chinook pilot to grid property before he got out🤙 we could have made a kill in with night vision Antler heist😂 a New Meaning of Get to the Choppa🤣

Pretty stupid choices there! There is a rumor going around that it was state land leased by the rancher. But I think if that was the case, it wouldn't have been such a big deal!

Such an embarrassing and egregious unethical crime all for getting “bone” for pictures and likes I bet. People are obsessed for sheds now. Helicopter traffic in MT is insane, on a sheep hunt last fall near Yellowstone we had this private helicopter flying very low around our spike camp for 4 days straight. I fantasize about having a rocket launcher for this rich California DBs.

I wish they'd outlaw selling them, then a lot of the problems would resolve themselves. Maybe not this particular problem though, these guys are just idiots!
Hunters and animals would be the better for it. The first organization/lobby group that starts pushing it is getting money/support from me!

Crazy someone would jeopardize their career for a a few sheds. Curious what repercussions they’ll face.

Depends on officer or warrants I would be willing to bet. The PIC might earn himself a Q3 as well if the army is anything like the Air Force

Shed hunting... is it hunting or wandering or flying in this case with blindness through bedding and calving grounds. A person can't use binoculars to spot them, can't call them in, can't follow tracks, have to step on top of them after elk have vacated the general area.

I agree with the previous post, likes and follows and can't find a real job if they sell them at the expense of the animals. I just don't get it. Actually, shed hunting folks just don't get it.

Tell me you don't have much experience looking for sheds

I mean I am with you on "not getting it". Not saying I haven't went shed "hunting"...but I don't need to be the first and in the wintering grounds when the animals are still there. I also just do it for exercise and why not. But it is WAY overblown and for most is just a fad that is cool guy flat bill stuff.

BUT if you understand animal habits your aren't just blindly roaming around. To be proficient at it you need to understand where the highest probability areas are and you can 100% use binos to find them. I've done it a bunch.

But, again I think the shed "hunting" craze is a joke in general...even more so people pissed that there are restrictions on it. And I am also in the agreement they shouldn't be able to be sold and if they outlawed picking them up on public it wouldn't register on my meter.

So if they would have used a harness and not touched the ground would it still have been trespassing?

If you havent been in the military its hard to understand having been in not surprised in the least. We did some dumb shit

I'd expect better. BECAUSE they are in a helicopter backed by the United States of America and have a uniform. Do what you got to do to finish a mission on the other side of the line, but within our borders class is apparently lacking for some. That action does as much injustice when it makes light of day as flocks of people posting on social media. And honestly the injustice isn't posting, it's feeling the need to go do it and advertise.

This is all thrust and no vector.

You live in a state with elk that you care about and want to have healthy populations in the fall?

Help me understand what you're saying. Are you saying shed hunting is non-invasive and has a purpose to Wildlife management.
