Miles on your old 7.3 diesel?

Thanks, whereabouts are you located? Most older trucks around here are pretty rusty.

My 99 with 6speed manual has about 498k on the clock. I had a rusted cab corner replaced last summer. Otherwise it is rust free. It’s currently sitting in my shop waiting for me to replace the oil dipstick grommet on the side of the oil pan. The 7.3 is a bit of a pain in really cold climates (think -20 or colder). Takes time to warm up and I think skipping the warm up leads to a lot of issues. Mine has had most of the major drive train components replaced including the turbo and trans but some of that (trans) was because my dad got into an accident with it. Engine itself is original to the truck and it still burns 1 quart of oil in 5000 miles as it always has.
