Maven C1s is where I'd go. I love mine and was doing the same research.
Finally got a store to let me in to browse...
Was able to check out the following models:
Leupold BX-4 PG -
Had the most textured grip of the 4.
Focus knob spun very easily, may be an issue fine focusing when your fingers are cold and not too sensitive to touch.
Liked the locking diopter knob.
Felt a bit heavier than the Nikon and about the same as the Vortex.
Like the open bridge design.
Vortex Viper HD -
Heavy.
Narrow but soft eye cups. Do these damage easily?
Least comfortable in my bare hand, felt a bit bulky.
Finish didn't allow for much grip, wonder how they'd be when wet.
Nikon Monarch 7 -
Lightest feeling of the group.
Finish was grippy but has no texture. Wonder how they'd be when wet.
No locking diopter.
Glass seemed as clear as the rest.
Most comfortable to hold in hand.
Zeiss Terra ED -
Good glass.
Simple, functional design and appearance.
Felt about as heavy as the Vortex.
No locking diopter.
So, at the end of the day I am yet undecided. I'm leaning towards the Nikon honestly but also really like the BX-4. I guess I'll wait until a deal for one of those two comes along that is too good to pass up and make my move.

Lol. I was always told that if you are going to spend a lot of money on something for hunting you do it on optics or a scope.I ended up totally blowing my budget and bought the Nikon Monarch HG. I did not get to use them on my recent close range bear hunt but have no doubt they'll prove a nice upgrade once my summer scouting ramps up.
