I just received this e-mail, and wanted to keep you in the loop:

Hello Doug,

There is no official news regarding the service center in the U.S. at the moment.

However we are working very intensively on this project and I truly hope that we will be able to share an update very soon.

Thank you for your patience and understanding

Thanks, Doug!

With the amount of options out there, they really screwed the pooch with no US service center and subbing stuff out to China. They used to be the Alpha scope alternative without the Alpha scope price. Now they are just another Leupold or Vortex. Just too bad.

(i was looking to buy a Meostar rifle scope end of last year, ended up with S&B).

Here is a question - are other countries full of hunters and shooters who buy a lot of scopes like we do over here? I've never been and never heard - always thought most places had heavy gun control.

There are great options in scopes from GPO, Telson, Revic, Zeiss, Athlon, Sightron. No, not everything under those brands is awesome, but the upper lines they offer are great and there are sharp deals available. Yes, I agree, Meopta did themselves a great disservice

Man, I don't know. To me Leupold or Vortex is nice optics that break, so you need the service. Meopta is nice and doesn't break (at least as often as Vortex).
Only ever had issues with a Leica and a Leupold.

Never did get a Meopta, just wanted to. believe you. I knew a guy who years ago traded out his Swaro scopes for Meopta. Said he liked em better - which is why I wanted to get one.
