I am going to grab a new pair of 15's and have it narrowed down to these two pieces of glass, does anyone have any hands on experience with either or preferably both and what is your experience with them the good bad and ugly. Thanks for any input you all may have.

I bought the Meopta 15's from Doug last fall. My primary glass is the EL 10x42 and I was impressed just how clear and bright these Meopta's are. I was able to mount them side by side and glass -- comparing them throughout different times of day. I was counting antler points over a mile away on mule deer. I can't recommend them enough.

I haven't looked at the SIG and can't give any information regarding them but I can say the Meopta's are fantastic for the price.

I know the sigs are on the newer side but have heard great things and know my sig scope and rangefinder have been great.

Maven is coming out with a B5 model in 15x56 and 18x56 that the folks with prototypes are saying good things about. You may have already written that one off or may not have known. Just figured I'd mention it as I was looking around for a new pair of 15s and wondered about the sig as well, I was leaning hard towards the meaostars prior to hearing about the maven B5, now I am thinking I'll grab a set of those if they come out in the next month or two as indicated.

IIRC, Robby Denning did a review/comparo on the Sig 15's. There is a video on youtube, maybe hunt that one up, it might be helpful.

I did see that video and that really what had me leaning sig but hard figuring out how it stacks up to the meopta, he seemed favorable to them over the vortex and zeiss and if i recall was just behind the slc?

I went through the same debate about 4 months ago. Optics planet had a sale on the sigs for right at $1k so I bought them. I have been really really happy with my sigs. They are good enough that I prefer to look through them over a big razor spotter even if its set at low power. Ive never looked through the meoptas. I have looked through 10x slcs and for what I do most (long range glassing for sheep all year long) I would rather have my sigs. The eyecups seem well designed but the binos are a little bigger than some 15s. They still fit in my bino harness fine but its tighter than Id like.

Yeah, that's the way I remember it as well. Overall, I think he was pretty impressed.

They seem pretty comparable in specs to the meopta size wise only question is they haven't been out long for much info out there on it?

One thing to point out here is that there is sample variation even among $1500 glass,
Some units of same make are better than others.

You can't put much faith in one comparison between optics if you only have one sample of each. You could have a stellar unit from one make against a shitty sample of another makers unit. It happens.

If I'm not running the current SLC then give me the Zeiss Conquest HD. IMO.

Think the Sig is the same at the current Maven B4 15x56 just like the Zulu9 is the same binocular as the Maven B2 with different armor. So you might want to look up Maven reviews.

Meopta is well known and respected but heavy. The Zeiss Conquest seem to be very good too and get good reviews. You might want to check those out too.

Let us know what you buy.

I have the meoptas and they are great. I remembered meoptas being heavy too, but maybe that was at the 10x range. at the 15x level it’s all very comparable. I didn’t look this up, but I think they were only around 2oz heavier than SLC 15x. I did hold the Sigs in Cabelas a while back and do recall them being heavy, but they looked great to me and were at a good price.

I’ve been very pleased with my meoptas And I can say their customer service was great. I dropped mine recently from chest height - onto concrete. Ouch. They landed with a solid thud on an outside edge. Glass was fine but barrels had been knocked them out of alignment. I bought them unused/new in box but secondhand, so I thought I was SOL and this was going to cost me several hundred to get repaired. Clearly it was my fault. But, after talking to a Meopta rep they repaired them under warranty for no charge! All it cost me was outbound shipping to one of their US locations, who then forwarded it to their factory, and they shipped it back to me. Couldn’t be happier. Can’t say this would be everyone’s experience, but it made me a raving fan.

(But I am anxious to get my hands on a pair of those 18x Mavens when they come out.)

I have the Cabela version of the Meoptas 15xs and my cousin has the SLC Swaros. Neither of us can tell a difference. Really happy with the Meoptas and would not even think about upgrading.

Does your cousin have the latest version of Swarovski 15x?

I ordered the sigs, reviews had me decide to try them out and optics planet had them at a good price and really like my other sig optics. Reviews i have found on them fair really well so thought it was worth trying them, if these don't do it, i suppose the meoptas will get ordered. I will let you know what i think of them when i have had a little time in differing conditions.
