I’m hesitant to leave my Swaros 10x42s SLCs in my work ride and end up using binos quite a bit for work, especially at night. Also would like a backup set for an upcoming Mule Deer Trip. Any opinions on the Meopta Meopro 8x42 HDs and best place to buy them?

Great quality optic, probably the best under $500.00

Please give us a call, 516-217-1000, and we will take great care of you on it

I bought some Meopro HD 8x32s today from Doug at Camera Land. $350 is great deal!!! Back when I purchased my Swaro SLC 10x42s I tested a bunch of other 10x42s. Back then the Meopros we're selling for around $800. Optically I thought they were equals to the Vortex Razor HDs with a superior build quality. Assuming nothing has changed since the price drop, I agree these are probably the best binos under $500.

Nothing has changed, except the price. You'll really enjoy them. Thanks for the support.

I have been using the 8x42's for a couple years now. I also thought the compared with the Razor HD and also the Conquest HD. A slight edge to the Conquest but the price difference made the Meopro's more attractive. Doug will treat you right!

The MeoPro’s are nice, but if you want to compare a Meopta product to an SLC look into the MeoStar. For my eyes I actually prefer the MeoStar to the SLC in the short time I got to look through both. My eyes preferred the warm hue compared to the cool of the SLC. Of course given time and use that preference could change. All said and done you can’t go wrong with anything from premium bino companies including Meopta.

Thans guys for the info. It will be interesting comparing them to the 10x42 SLCs.
I would love to hear the comparison between these two. I have been thinking about upgrading to the SLC so a head to head would be appreciated.

I picked up a pair of 8x42 meopros from Doug @ cameraland this summer and find them exceptional for the price he sold them for. Now they don’t even touch my buddies Swarovski el but didn’t expect them to and I don’t spend that kind of time behind the glass to warrant spending much more. The meostar were very intriguing and if I had higher funds they would have been purchased. I would buy with confidence.

If I were you I’d buy a pair of Tract Torics in 8x42. You can get a demo model for $458 or a closeout of the original model for $524. They both come with a 30 day trial and full lifetime warranty. I’ve owned both the Toric and Meopro. The Meopro is nice but not in the same league as the Toric which is a true sub alpha. You would need to go to the Meostar to match the Toric. The demo and closeouts are the original Toric same model I own. Those who have compared them to the new model say there is very little difference.
